Some people didn't know that they made 2 versions of Warlords 3. Warlords 3 and Warlords 3 Battlecry. I didn't like the Battlecry version very much. I prefer the turn based version. It doesn't look like you have it. Why? Any chance you can get it? Same company right? Just curious why you have one but not the other.

Thanks!

Probably licensing issues. It's possible that the rights for Warlords 1 through 4 belong to a company that hasn't made a deal with GOG, or that they're split across several different companies.
Even if you look at the Battlecry games, you'll see that WBC 1 and 2 are published by Ubisoft, while WBC 3's publisher is Enlight Software. So, there may be something more complicated at work here.

EDIT: Or it's Ubisoft being kind of lazy about releasing old games here, as usual.

It's ages that I'm waiting for the original Warlords to be on Gog -_-

According to some former Red Orb/SSG people, Ubisoft has the rights and probably doesn't even realize it, considering that Ubi owns Broderbund's catalog. Steve still owns the IP, but Ubi has publishing rights.

Far less lazy than EA, Activision, Squeenix, etc.! :P We actually got some more Ubi games recently.

If the rights situation is complex, which it probably is, hopefully GOG can sort it out and offer to buy the IP if necessary (like Warhammer or the AD&D games).

The good news is that 2 is freeware and works pretty flawlessly in Dosbox.

Also, there's a fanmade clone called Lordsofwar! or something along those lines. It's freeware.
Now you made me itch for a Warlords 3: Darklords Rising...
Well, all we can do is vote for them and hope GOG gets them eventually.
I spent many hours trying to find a working version of warlords 2/3 on the internet. I also remember my disappointment with Warlords 4.

I would love them to appear on GOG.

I still have Warlords 2 Deluxe. It's one of the first games I got on CD. Spent countless hours playing this against the PC and in hotseat with my brother. Then when we got a Pentium it would not run, Windows nor DOS, till around 2001 I found a fan-made patch that would allow it to work on newer cores. I was in 7th heaven when I finally got to play again a game from my childhood. Of course few years later DOSBOx came and this all became a moot point.

One of the best turn based strategies of all time. If this is freeware then fans of the genre here should give it a go.

KGB confirmed it's freeware, so I'll take his word for it. Unfortunately, he also said that the source code for 3:DLR 1.02 has been lost. He has the source code for 1.00, but can't and won't release it without Steve's express permission. (Also, any potential legal snafus it might cause, should Ubisoft get butthurt about it.)

Would you have a link for that fan made version, I can only find a card game and some WOW addon.

What's wrong with Battlecry ? :/ They're some of my favorite RTS games.
