The game starts crashing at key points, it wasn't a big deal until the Borg Cube missions, where when I go to rescue Foster my game crashes back to the main menu, something about not enough memory and the console says dumped?

That is a weird crash - a game from early 2000s complaining about not enough memory...

In any case, I've already advanced past that point and didn't encounter any such issues.

What OS are you on? Details on your amount of RAM memory and what video card you are using would also provide more insight.

And if you haven't already, do also contact GOG support about this.

What Post 3 says, and also: save your game before the timer to save foster starts, as that bit can be a bit tricky to complete.
(and it's optional, so if you fail it you continue on with the game)
