A game about 1st Cav at Ia Drang!

(you may have heard about this battle from the movie We Were Soldiers or Col. Hal Moore's book We Were Soldiers Once, and Young)

We Were Soldiers
movie trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaOl-Z8iWlA

From the game's Steam page...

"Leave No One Behind is tactical real time strategy war game. Experience some of the hardest battles fought during the Vietnam War in 1965 between US Army and the Army of the Northern Vietnam for landing zones X-Ray and Albany and for Plei Me special forces camp."

Expected release is December 2021. That's for Steam. The devs have said they have no plans ATM to release on GOG. Sadly, this has become the norm with games I want to play. Maybe they can be convinced otherwise?

So for someone born after the German Reunification, perhaps someone could take a quick inquiry here?

Why would someone want to play a game about one of the greatest failures of guerrilla warfare and tactics?

Which in no part wasn't helped by a strategy which largely consisted of higher ups deciding that broad numbers was the key instead of planning?

I suggest you read on battle of Ia Drang Valley. Your conclusions are all wrong.

kai2: Vietnam Conflict RTS Leave No One Behind: Ia Drang
Too bad it's an RTS.
Turn based would have been the better choice, imho.
Especially given, that the US troops were totally outnumbered and without reinforcements during the whole debacle.
Not exactly what I would call the best prerequisites for an RTS.

Well, it seems perfect IMO... multiple waves, limited number of soldiers with helicopter and air support.
i would need to see more proper gameplay but more rts is welcomed, the genre needs to be revived.
