Hey,
So i bought the Witcher Series and i just noticed how even the first game seem very large to download (15GB, 20GB, 25GB - in order of games 1, 2, 3). Is this normal or have i chosen a particular download method which caused this. Like compared to when downloading on steam these are files are much larger for games - i think anyway. Does GOG use zip files as i can't imagine the game files being so big that the zip file is 15GB for a game published in 2006?

Also when downloading a game, e.g. The Witcher 3, i believe i bought it with the 4 available DLC (can't tell cuz the GOG app won't show me the full name of the game etc. :P but am 99% sure i have it all) anyway when i click the conventional install option does this take care of all the patches and DLC as when i enter the 'Extra Download' section i am met will all these patches and DLC files are these just there for, if, i want them seperately and i don't need to download them as the conventional way will download everything? - these are all under 'Game Backup Copy' section header.

Thanks.

Galaxy downloads uncompressed files, that could be it.
You can download the compressed installers if you want.

Shrapnel101: Thanks.
When The Witcher came out it's DEMO was 2 GB!!!
And you are complaining about full game size. :P

Galaxy 1.1.6 added support for compressed downloads. We are currently at 1.1.11, and quite a number of games support compression. The number displayed on the install screen is still the uncompressed one, but the size of the download is the correct one.
Yes, installing will get what's needed and install it. The files are listed separately in case you want to download individually and do it manually, or simply to have a backup.

Have you tried hovering the mouse cursor over the name and waiting for a tooltip to show? Also, there is usually a dropdown menu associated with each game (lower-right corner of it) with one of the options being to go to the store page for the game. Certainly the store page for the game will have the full title.

Ah oh well, I hate it so I don't follow the updates.

Thus why I correct you, so you don't make the same mistake twice ;)
