GOG, please could you give us some update notes!

I had again games on my update shelf, but no hint about whatsoever has been changed.

Where is the problem to provide a short note about what has changed including a list of changed/new files to all owners of the updated game? As you have a message system already implemented, which you could use for such notes and/or create a change history which is accessible from the shelf for each game. Also it wouldn't vanish as the new tags (if there are some If I'm lucky)

What is holding you back?

Yes,I agree.
Maybe added in the wishlist section?!
It's on the wishlist

Until this is implemented (after Galaxy is released and hell has frozen over twice) the next best thing is the
update thread.

agreed! this would be very nice to know exactly what changed. sometimes it is more specific then others in the description... but to be safe i usually just download all the extra goodies too.

Technically it's not a big problem, but it's surely some effort to gather and provide such a list. Also, it's not really clear for me what the benefit would be of knowing the exact list of modified/removed/added files? What do you learn from it? Wouldn't a precise message summarizing the change be better? Why not also having a complete diff with all the changed content for download?

What is holding them back is probably limited resources and not seeing a big advantage, therefore prioritizing other things.

Also they are known for implementing new features at a very slow speed.

Erm..I have no idea why you dig up a two year old thread. They have implented a changelog meanwhile :)

Good job Woolytoes! Thank you for being so vigilant on necro watch.

Now if GOG would provide a changelog that includes what has actually changed when a product is displayed as updated as quickly as you responded to this infraction.

"They have implented a changelog meanwhile :)" You must be receiving more detailed changelogs than I am, as you clearly know that it was only a couple of days ago I commented. I have been notified of two updates recently that had nothing new added to the changelogs.
