TIme for exciting news from Microids – Flashback 2 is getting an update!

WIth Flashback 2, you can immerse yourself in an action-packed cyberpunk universe where the fate of humanity itself hangs in the balance. The Morphs are preparing their final attack, determined to enslave every civilization in the Solar System — and it's your mission to fight back!

From the newest update you can expect a variety of gameplay improvements, controls improvements, as well as global changes and improvement.

Check it out!
But does it make a good game? I'd rather see the actual sequel Fade to Black re-released.
I'm interested in this game, but I will wait for a bigger discount. It's a little expensive for me.
It's almost 30 years since I played Fade to Black so I can't remember whether it was a good game but according to mobygames the reviews of it were mostly positive in contrast to the reviews of Flashback 2...

All I remember is dying... a lot! ;) Did eventually beat it, and as far as I can recall I enjoyed it. Controls were quite clunky even then though.
To those that do own the game already, has the patch made a substantial difference? I don't mind a bit of jank as I played through F2B back in the day and can still enjoy it now. The bugs in this game though, made it quite difficult to enjoy!

I'd love to buy the game but don't want to waste the money!
Flashback 2 was crap. The only good thing was that you can play Flashback 1 in it.

Fade2Black wanted to bring the 2D movement in the new cool thing called "3D", but the movement was clunky and slow. It feels like moving a tank sometimes. The later releaed PSX version had more effects and bigger Levels than the PC version. That is not mentioned in a good way, because the minimal, today called "Low Poly"-style in a crisp software mode (no blurry blending effects) makes it a nice looking game.

Its not easy to play, because in Dosbox it starts to run too fast, you have so configure the CPU cycles to get a good speed. The controls are also not so easy to learn. Also there is the PSX version for an emulator, mostly the more easy way to go with a gamepad.
