Starkrun: Epic is releasing the 15 days of Christmas free games happening right now. We are through 7 right now, and we have 8 more to go. Since everything's moving so quick, we're bound to see Unreal 3 X released by December 29th as that is the big release window that lasts until January 5th.
Yep, I have been grabbing each free game from Epic as they appear daily, unless I already have it with them, and there have been a few repeats. Sadly due to their server issues the other day, I missed out on the Director's Cut version of one of the games, eventually changed to the standard edition ... but maybe it was a mistake on their part in the first place.

I have all the Unreal games at GOG and backed up to drives, so anything new will be welcome, even if it is just remastered versions. I can choose which version I use, so I am not too bothered.
I doubt that UT 3 X is going to be a part of the Christmas giveaways.
And it wasn't as the 15 Days of free games has now finished and it never appeared, and isn't one of the two free games at Epic next Friday.

I have a feeling it will be January-ish
What I'm interested in is whether they are going to fix ANY of the issues in the game or just jam Epic services in and call it a day.

From the already mentioned vehicle turn rates on high framerates to the way the game handles FOV and how the top and bottom of the screen is cropped when playing on anything other than 4:3 resolutions (1/3rd of the weapon model is not visible in 16:9, same area at the top). My suspicion is nothing is going to get touched at all....

At least then there would be some point to the X release. But it's just going to be another lazy repackage shown off as something at least minimal effort went into....
