Hello,

I just got a new hard drive dedicated to games. I am in the process of uninstalling all games from the original drive, and reinstalling them to the new drive. There are several games that when I try to uninstall from Settings -> Apps & Features, I get "Windows cannot find 'C:\...unins000.exe'. When I try to go to the actual game folder and run unins000.exe manually, I get an error saying it "cannot import GameuxInstallHelper.dll", but the .dll is in the same folder.

Why?

You really don't have to uninstalling and then reinstalling them on the same installation. In the vast majority of the games you can just move them over to the new drive. For one-time copy of large folders, I use https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/dsynchronize_portable

To copy/move like this; C:\games to E:\games f.ex.

In fact, most games are relatively portable so you could in most cases even reinstall Windows and just re-import the games folder. It's even easier if you use Galaxy to fix the very very few games that depends on hard paths.

Besides, there are tools out there to help you with uninstalling and deep cleaning, like https://geekuninstaller.com/.

EDIT: You might be able to fix it by using regsvr32 to register the .dll file (or reinstalling ALL the games and then uninstalling again, basically the same thing), but again, it's so much easier to just move the folder.

Run sfc /scannow as an admin in any case just to make sure everything is in order with your Windows installation.
