No idea. You'd better ask the developers on that one.
What Grargar said. But doesn't the game use the steam cloud and your registry to remember your decisions in the game? Wouldn't that make it kind of hard to release on GOG?
Well, it's already out DRM-free on HB, so I'd think that a DRM-free release here wouldn't be unreasonable.

Stil, I'd be willing to bet that GOG has dismissed it as being "too niche" as it starts to use Steam as its guideline for acceptance.

There is a DRM free version sold though humble store.

Ugh, really? Why do game devs use the registry to store save game data? What's wrong with the game's own directory?

Hm, maybe it was only the registry then. Well then I don't really see a problem with GOG acquiring the game.
Argh, I had thought that it was going to get a GOG release once it was out of early access... I guess not.

I'm probably going to give it until a more than 50% sale at humble to show up here.

I've tried emailing the dude two or three times with no response; I assume he's super-busy with things right now.

The wishlist entry is at over 1,000 votes now, so that's good for fans - http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/undertale
From looking online, it appears that the game does not actually use the registry. Instead, it uses 2 local copies of the save file and (for the Steam version) one copy on Steam cloud. If you are using the DRM-free version and delete both local copies, you can undo what you've done.

There's also an OS X port. I'm not so well-acquainted with OS X, but I don't think it has something akin to the "registry". Did the dev then just save it as usual?

Furthermore, what would stop anyone from fiddling with it in the registry?

It's just so annoying when devs use the Registry instead, because it makes backing up game saves a real pain.
