Recently I have a problem with updating the games in my account, and I thought it might be good idea to adress this problem in the forum, since it seems to be a general problem. The problems consists in newer versions of the games being available as a new install, while the actual patches are not available.
At first this was the case for Gal CIv III, now it seems to be the same for Master of Orion. In one case I asked the support about this and they answered me that they were working on it. Since this was more than four months ago, I guess that this probably isn´t accurate anymore.
Maybe I failed to understand something, because otherwise it would mean that I am really expected to redownload and reinstall games with every new patch? For me this would actually mean not to buy any more recent games/ games still in development on gog.com, as this would be more than just a little inconvenience.
But maybe (and I really do hope so) there is something I missed, so please correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: Or is the answer that since there is gog galaxy, which updates the games automatically, gog.com does not provide the actual patches for games in any other way anymore? I don´t necessarly agree with certain complaints about galaxy being some kind of drm (I simply didn´t bother to learn about it) but gog galaxy does seem a little bit less optional, if it´s really necessary to keep games updated in a reasonable way, doesn´t it? But again, maybe I misunderstood something
