Train Fever is actually getting a follow-up game. I'm glad. I do like TF even if it's somewhat simplistic. I've always been a sucker for this genre. It must be the German in me. ;)

Anyway, take a gander at this lovely announcement trailer. Yup, it's Urban Games's take on Transport Tycoon. Hopefully with a tweaked track builder, a more complicated industry chain and better optimization.

I'd say (or hope) that the likelihood of it showing up on GOG is quite good seeing as Gambitious and Train Fever are already on GOG. Looking forward to discovering more about this game.

Until then, you may want to peruse TF's website.

It looks nice in the trailer, I hope too that it will be more on the hardcore games side (with multiple difficulty modes to appeal to everyone of course) with much depth in the gameplay section etc and not on the casual/tablet games side. I'll keep an eye on that, thanks for the heads up!

Might edit this in to your post: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/transport_fever
I definitely want to see this game on GOG! 'Voted!
It looks very nice! I hope it ends up playing as good, too. The track layout seems so smooth.
I feel like unpacking my Lima model trains!
Definitely waiting for it! The world has not enough transport sims :o)
Damn, how did I miss this thread. Can't wait for this game in the fall. Loved Transport Fever even with it sometimes challenging design and problems. Also Linux version is confirmed and gog release too :)

Just perfect!!!!!!!!!!

Did the finally fixed the game. I actually bought it at release and tried to play it but it was crashing in many situations. Also it had a very bad pathfinding for laying down tracks.

You didn't look hard enough. =P

Also, HafenkaeselLP has pointed out that Urban Games have already confirmed via their FAQ that Transport Fever will be coming to GOG. :)

It definitely looks like Urban Games is on the right track. ;) Its latest dev video highlights the creation of tracks and streets, and it is very obvious how much more flexible the system will be in TF. I'm looking forward to finding out more. :)

Closed beta is scheduled for August with beta tester applications dateline being July 17*. (*Steam required)
Hmm,

I am looking forward to this game, and will most likely be buying it on both Steam and GOG.

However, one thing that worries me is the developers emphasis on modding, and the way that they are pushing the concept of "user created content" in their last two developer blog videos. I realise and respect the fact that Urban Games is a very small studio, but i don't want them expecting users to be creating all of the games content for them after release.

Train Fever had only 1 DLC pack, and i hope that we get more regular DLC packs with Transport Fever to keep the game fresh.

Oh well, i will be checking my emails this week to see if i have been selected as a Beta tester for this game. *fingers crossed*
Have a gander at 15 minutes of gameplay. Watching the devlog videos on TF's website was nice, but it's good to get an overall view of things even in this short snippet.

- the overall UI looks a bit improved
- industry that actually varies and grows over time
- end products that need to be delivered to the appropriate city districts
- train stations that can be accessed from more than one side now
- displayed catchment areas for your transportation hub
- if the bridge replacement is anything to go by building raised roads and tracks ought to be infinitely easier this time around

I'm excited for next month. :) I just hope there will be a way to integrate Steam mods in the GOG version.
