GR00T: I read a few of the negative reviews, and they pretty much amounted to "Not PS:T", "Bad Graphics", and "Found bugs in the Early Access Beta". I didn't dig a lot further (not going to bother reading through all of them), but the negative reviews I've read don't worry me too much.
+1
Since I don't personaly care about the game one way or the other I guess I might as well be the bearer of bad news, as it seemd the long awaited Torment will have some of that delightful "promised features nowhere to be seen" crowdfunding debacle going.

Man I can't wait for Star Citizen to implode already ;)

I almost forgot this was releasing next month. I skimmed trough that link, and seems to me some of the decisions people are complaining about are normal during game development. Maybe because i'm a basic lvl backer, and didnt follow development very closely apart from reading the ks updates, but i'm not worried. I'm looking forward to see if it comes close to a PST experience, if it does, great, if not, plenty of fish in the ocean.
From what I read it looks like the Italians are not getting their language supported.

Yeah, but the issue is "proper communication". Or lack thereof, in this case. It would've been better if Inxile had just come out and admitted that some stretch goal content (!) (that people paid for to have in the game, mind you) won'tbe in the game. That would have been more honest than these peace-meal admissions one month before release.

Sucks that they cut companions and other content WITHOUT communicating it to us. Here's hoping some of that content will show up in future DLCs (which are going to be free for backers, as was promised).
I backed this at the minimum level to get the game, never really looked at the promised stretch goals, and have only been looking at the KS update e-mails. So I have no real expectations of the game other than that I expect it to be as enjoyable (or moreso) as Wasteland 2. Yeah, I'm one of the few that seemed to really like W2. So it's all good with me. The only thing that gives me any pause is the fact that they decided to develop for consoles at the same time. Hopefully it won't be too obviously consolized when it's released.

But I can see why people that backed at higher tiers would be pissed off, and I would be as well. But I learned my lesson from the Pillars of Eternity KS, so I only back at the minimum to get the game if I back a project now.

I was under the impression that it was pretty well received?

I guess it was, but I've read a number of posts on various forums where people said they didn't like it. Might be just that I'm remembering the complaints and not the compliments though.

I think it must have been just a vocal minority. The reviews were mostly positive, and they definately wouldn't be making a sequel if the game was overall poorly received.

And I didn't even realise untill now that Torment was being made by the same dev. That's actually the first time I have a reason to get interested in it.

Good point. PC gamers are especially prone to complaining so I guess I was fooled by the loud minority.
Ah wrong thread.

Though I can say I'm happy this is coming out finally! :D

Came out of forum-retirement to download the new Torment game. Has anyone played the game, yet? Hopefully, it's a good enough sequel that I'm not judging it against the original too harshly.
The impression I am getting is that Numenra is decent RPG,but suffers from having billed itself as another Planescape:Torment and any game that did that was almost certain to disappoint.
