This list doesn't have Terraria :) I am waiting for patch 1.3.1 to totally deconstruct a world till nothing of it remains, not a single patch of water and dirt, and use all materials for building in other world :)

On my list, the top place would be The Witcher. Although it didn't obliterate hopes nor dash dreams, and instead of being the last in the series it spawned 2 successful sequels, and was not made by people who didn't give two s#@^* about what came before (quite the opposite; they were fans), they still destroyed what was the perfect ending in the books, and therefore ruined a world and crushed a series.

Mass Effect 3 would be my choice. So badly written ending lore the next one had to move to another galaxy.

Quake 4 and Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault ruined the FPS genre for me.
Scripted, chaotic shit.
Haven't played a modern FPS since.

Pacific Assault is a really, incredibly bad example. I haven't spoken to one person who actually liked anything about it beyond the opening sequence.

There are plenty of vastly superior examples out there that have been released since.
