...no matter what I do, it will just keep running as soons as I start my pc.

And I don't want that.

After going through the setting so many times, I just gave up.

Is this some sort of issue?

Does GOG Galaxy always have to run as soon as your computer starts?

EDIT: minor spelling

Go to your task manager (right click the toolbar or start button or press Shift+control+esc), choose the tab "startup programs" and block it from there.
This method works with GOG Galaxy, Steam and half the crap we usually install on the computer. Other more advanced crap may require a stroll through the task scheduler.

Edit: Galaxy should have some sort of setting to choose if starts with windows or manually but I don't use Galaxy at all, sorry.

Nope - it should not. The setting is in General tab -> Auto Start in the Galaxy settings(the cog top left corner). If that does not work try from task manager-> startup and check for Galaxy (disable it if its enabled)

Okay lets try something a bit more difficult. Go to microsoft site - here and download Autoruns. The link is at the very bottom of the page. You did not mention what OS you are using. If its normal Windows 10 64bit start the Autoruns64.exe file from the zip(after you extract everything). If its another OS/system read which exe you need to start for it. The program will load everything that runs on your system and there will be tabs on top. Click on Logon and look for anything that is Galaxy related and unmark it.

Thx a lot.

I'm sorry I didn't mention I'm running Windows 11 64-bit.

I'll try this method now.
Unless you are doing it wrongly, then it sounds like there must be something running on your PC that restores things ... perhaps an option in your AV. Is it your PC, or are you just a user?
