My experiences with GOG staff are generally positive, with small hiccups here and there. Off the top of my head:
1. A long time ago, a couple of times I faced the problem that my credit card was charged even though my purchase attempt had failed, ie. I was charged but didn't receive the game. These were cleared promptly when I contacted support. I would have wished something like that wouldn't have happened at all (because I presume unless I had noticed itself, it wouldn't have ever been fixed and I would have paid for a game I didn't get), but at least support responded like I expected.
2. Haegemonia Gold Edition didn't work for me in Windows 8, so I asked GOG support if they are aware of any possible workarounds. They just replied that unfortunately the game is not supported in Windows 8 (true, Windows 8 is not listed in the gamecard) so I am not eligible for a refund, but I wasn't really asking for a refund, just if they know of any workaround to maybe get it to work in Windows 8. I took that as a "no".
On the subforum people report getting it to work by using DXWind utility, so apparently there are workarounds.
3. I recently bought Divinity: Original Sin, and the download page mentions you can obtain the Classic version of the game too by contacting support. So I did, but the code they first sent me was a discount code for Darksiders 2. :) I asked again, and got the correct code. A honest mistake, human error.
4. I accidentally bought X Rebirth, even though what I really wanted to buy was X Rebirth Home of Light Complete Edition. Unfortunately I had already downloaded the game so I wasn't really eligible for a refund anymore based on buyer's remorse.
I first thought I'll buy the upgrade to the Complete Edition, but it didn't feel right that that would end up costing me around 6€ more than if I had just bought the Complete Edition right away. So I asked GOG support if I could still get it refunded e.g. as store credit so that I can buy the Complete Edition, and they agreed.
I haven't yet bought the Complete Edition though because I missed that promo sale just by minutes before I got the refund. :( Waiting when it will be promoed again... I've already used that store credit on a bunch of other games though.
So... not really negative experiences, just some hiccups.
