gunsynd: Sort of knew that, never saw the movie..
It's a really fun movie. Portrays the spirit of freedom on BMX bikes really well. Not like that dour Rad: The Movie.

Plus it's bright and colorful and filmed in the Australian sun.

Fun drinking game for that movie. Whenever someone says "Reckon" you take a shot.

You'll be passed out on the floor 20 minutes in.

Incidentally, works for Sling Blade, too. Except in 20 minutes time you'll be talking like Karl and maybe acting like the Dwight Yokum character.
There really hasn't been a good sports game since EA stole the code from Bethesda.
I don't so much think there is a stigma against people who play sports games.

I think an awful lot of people who play RPGs and consider themselves hardcore spend a lot of time and energy worrying about what other people play.

When I was in college I played Madden and never knew anyone cared. Only when I got into RPGs did I encounter the endlessly bickering judgmental horde.

Since then I've realized that there are jerks who play all sorts of games. But I don't care anymore to judge genres or to judge people by what genres they play.

EDIT: Well, except people who play sports games. Those people are dumb.

1983,fair while back and the sun is still shining...
I'm not a competitive person. I'm not into sports, I'm not into sports games, I'm not into games turned into e-sports.
My thoughts are fairly simple on this one.
Speaking about sports games... we really do need another Links game.
One of the few genres I still enjoy playing. At their best, the'yre deep and challenging, yet still accessible. Fun in single and multiplayer. Quite similar to 1 on 1 fighting games, which I also like. Come to think of it, those might qualify as sports games, I don't know. And of course they don't expect you to sit back and listen to turgid dialogue or watch cut scenes for minutes on end. They're all game. Most other stuff by now just makes me feel embarrased for everyone involved.

Golf does lend itself to make for some really good games that are enjoyable for people who don't even like the actual sport. It might make for a good gateway sports-themed game to have come to GOG.

Sorry, I don't see people who play FPS or RPGs as hardcore. Ha! Show me a whiz at something like Supreme Ruler and then we can start talking. :)

I loved Hot Shots & Tony Hawk on my PS1!

I can't wait to sink my teeth into them. Like, after retirement. :)

Yep, I grabbed it not long after release here, but haven't played it yet. My 360 controller arrived just last week, but it'll be the end of tax season before I can really play around with it unfortunately.

Good point actually since I loved Links back in the day and I like Tiger Woods series well enough but I don't actually like watching golf on TV. Sports games are no different from other types of games - you don't want to go to war just because you like RTS or FPS.
