JMich: With 2016 coming to an end (too soon? too late?), it's time for the biannual update.
In
2016 GOG released
289 game titles (not including DLCs and games still In Development). First releases were
and [url=https://www.gog.com/game/darkest_hour_a_hearts_of_iron_game]Darkest Hour: A Hearts of Iron Game on January 5th, and last release was
Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy on December 29th. Out of the 289 titles,
119 (41%) were day 1 releases, with
Level22 Gary's Misadventures just missing out on that list (day 2 release). There are a few more games that were released with a slight delay, those can be found in
the spreadsheet.
We also had
35 (12%) pre-2K games released, while the total number of games ten years old or more is
57 (20%), with 4 games missing the 10 years requirement, even though they were released in 2006 (
Perimeter: Emperor's Testament,
Sid Meier's Railroads!,
Sea Dogs: Caribbean Tales and
Caesar IV)
Compared with 2015, GOG released 29 pre-2K fewer (35 to 64), 37 10+ years old fewer (57 to 94), and 25 more day 1 releases (119 to 94) and
19 less games (289 to 308). GOG also started selling games In Development, with 30 titles being introduced in 2016, and 7 of them being released as full games.

2008 had
65 releases,
29 (45%) of which were pre-2K ones.
2009 had
114 releases,
47 (41%) of which were pre-2K ones.
2010 had
79 releases,
35 (44%) of which were pre-2K ones, and
36 (46%) being 10+ years old.(

48 (30%) of which were pre-2K ones,

45 (25%) of which were pre-2K ones,
59 (32%) being 10+ years old, and
52 (28%) being day one releases.
2014 had
203 releases,
32 (16%) of which were pre-2K ones,
41 (20%) being 10+ years old, and
72 (35%) being day one releases.
2015 had
308 releases,
64 (21%) of which were pre-2K ones,
94 (31%) being 10+ years old, and
94 (31%) being day one releases.
2016 had
289 releases,
35 (12%) of which were pre-2K ones,
57 (20%) being 10+ years old, and
119 (41%) being day one releases, as well as 30 InDev games.
Total (so far) of
1487 releases,
383 (26%) of which were pre-2K ones,
473 (28%) being 10+ years old on release, and
363 (24%) being day one releases.
