Ixamyakxim: I too played the Prey demo. At the time it was an oft-delayed and very much hyped game that was probably going to have problems living up to that hype.
After playing the demo, I loved it. The character's thoughts spoken outloud, the atmosphere, the horror of just exactly what was happening on that ship in the opening moments... all of it. And I never bought the damn game. To this day I'm not sure why, but if this is the release here I hope it's as nerve-wrackingly tense and as beautiful graphically as I remember.
*edit - graphicly? Really?
It really is a great graphics experience for the timeframe, and easy to get absorbed into. It reminds me of a bunch of other games such as a bit of a mixture of Halo, Soul Reaver, AvP, but it was it's own thing. I agree, the opening sequence is very powerful to kickstart the story, and that followed by the Art Bell radio broadcast was just epic. If I remember correctly it supports 2560x1600 resolution also and that makes it shine even today. I probably would have played it in the last year if I had a working DVD drive but I've went for about a year without one. :) Kind of funny... I just bought one online a few days ago, and a friend came back from a trip to Toronto and told me he bought me a present - a DVD writer out of the blue, so now I have two of them LOL. Good time to dust off some old DVD/CD games now! :)
svmariscal: I'll go with either Alien Legacy or Alien Carnage, if only just because we already have Sierra and Apogee onboard. Plus, they're both very nice oldies.
Deep inside my heart, I wish it was XCOM though, but I have the feeling that's not gonna happen :(
Yeah, it would be awesome to have the XCOM series on GOG, but they're probably selling like hotcakes on Steam etc. right now due to the popularity of the most recent title and all the collection bundles. I bought mine that way back in Nov and got the entire XCOM series including the new game for $10 which was too hard to pass up. Doesn't have the expansion for the new game as it wasn't out at the time IIRC, but it has the entire rest of the series. Would be nice to see the games preserved here even if it's just the original few games for now. I played 70 hours of XCOM:UFO Defense since then and had a blast. Still need to get back into that and complete the game before moving up through the series. :)
