JudasIscariot: Wait, I have a sort of Hint:

Come Thursday, we will be able to have a proper rebuttal to any and all "Why does GOG not release any old games?" threads....at least for a while :P
Until next Tuesday then?

I would say it's the early Wizardry games, but I'm not sure that would qualify as a "quite a large event" that would "make a lot of people happy". So...SSI it is!
Let's spice things up a bit ; ) What about.. 3D Realms Anthology!

Well, I guess that excludes Bethesda then.
SSI it's gonna be I suppose.

Personally those old RPGs are too old for me. But it's good to see them come here. Plenty of people will be pleased.

Why would "GOG not releasing old games" not include Bethesda? Bethesda made a ton of classic games and they have all the id Software games! :P
So, SSI this week and Bethesda / id Software next week, right? ;p

karnak1: Will we have a Hint before the "thursday deal"?

JudasIscariot: Not for this, sorry. I honestly can't come up with anything that someone wouldn't guess within two seconds :) It's quite a large event, in my opinion, and I think it will make a lot of people happy :)

You mean, this thursday, when I'll most certainly won't be able to access to the web, because I'm moving to my new apartment tomorrow which don't have any access to the web until at least sunday/monday if there is no good surprise ? (and I won't have any other way to go here on GOG)
*Argh*
Hope this surprise will last until I'll be able to go on the web again !

But it's nice to hear, and I wish that GOGers will be happy with this surprise :D (enjoy it for me you all if I'm not here ;))

Yeah, I'm hoping that we're going to see Bethesda show up. They have the rights to a ton of significant old games, and them joining GOG could make a lot of people happy with beloved games that are both new and old. I don't think many people would get too excited about something like SSI, even if it would be a big deal for those who do care about it.

Those complaints have been pretty darn few and far between since you guys brought Disney (especially compared to mid-2014 and 2013). :P

Still, looking forward to Thursday for sure. And I think too think it's SSI AD&D games b/c recently we've seen SSI's Pacific Gen/Fantasy Gen games appear here and Ubisoft (SSI holder) has of course been bringing lots more goodness. If it is what I think, I'll be most def curious to see who the publisher is.

But if it's not Bethesda, Microsoft would be another great publisher! GOG could get Age of Empires, Freelancer, Outwars, Urban Assault, and more! :P

I hadn't even thought of that! That would be pretty awesome as well.
Old Bethesda games would definitely be of interest. Never mind Elder Scrolls, I'd like to see some of the Terminator ones they released. :-)
So the hint are for Revenant. your guess was spot on haydenaurion. Congratulations :D

Well, isn't Revenant quite old ? it's from 1999 after all :)

If you guys still in undead raising mood, how about releasing Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines ? I'm sure many would like to see them here, reborn, raise from beyond their graves :P

Whatever comes on Thursday, if it's not these two games, I hope it's new publisher coming :))
Judas you could have said there will be free stuff ;) which if it is bethesda it could be involve since I think the first 2 ES games are already free on Elderscrolls.com
