Hmm, do i see it corectly that we can't realy say for sure what the problem is ?
Various People with various Systems have the same problem. Some with newer graphic-cards some with older ones.
So what the heck is the connection to all of them. if we figure that out we may have the cause of this problem.

guys my Game worked! I fixed the problem, at least for me. so I will list here the steps, Behold I might cry:
Background to my problem:
- I pre-downloaded the game via Galaxy 2 days ahead to the release date, I waited for the release date, got the patch but the game didn't work, I can see the game in the Task Manager under the Background Processor, but I don't see a window displaying the game.
- I have a terrible internet connection, it kept interrupting my pre-download, I had the Server problem and other problems.
now the solution I did to fix the game:
Step1:
backup the game folder "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt", where your game is installed right now. it's a 24.7GB. copy it and save it into another HDD or another folder.
Step2:
uninstall the Game through the Control Panel. don't uninstall Galaxy we will need it later.
Step3:
re-install the Game using Galaxy. it will ask you to agree on the EULA agreement, accept and let the download start, give it a few minutes, then stop it.
Step4:
get your Game Backup "what we did in Step1" and put back in the same directory it has being. overwrite when asked.
Step5:
go back to Galaxy ask it to install the game again. it will verify/repair the game. then it will start downloading a 6.7GB, let the download finish.
play and enjoy.

Sign me up for the no-start as well. Game worked perfectly for the last 2 days, not a single issue, and then today it doesn't start. No error message. I'll restart my computer a third time just to be sure.

Hey all, I don't know if this sounds like something you want to try, but I had the same problem here. What I did to fix it is to uninstall the game itself from GoG Galaxy and re-install. I know this probably isn't what is wanted, but as I said it worked just fine for me.
Hope this helps!

I did a manual installation which suddenly failed to start just today (was working fine previous days). Currently trying to install from GOG Galaxy to see how things go. No idea why my witcher 3 suddenly decided to not start when I had no trouble the previous days.

Same here!
What's even more odd, is that suddenly the installation folder of the game does not have any executables inside!
Game not starting makes sense now since the game files are missing...
I am doing a check for missing files now and there is a ~600mb download. Perhaps that will solve it. They'd better not lose my saves.
