boger: Hey, look at this: me and my little ducklings...
Patch1.10 FTW!!!
I think I've seen that before.. ; )
Wow, really?! That is what I call 17GB of ''we need to do something about those bugs before the new DLC and we fucked it up!''

I'm going to reinstall the whole game and see if that make things any better.
What an incredibly buggy mess! Maybe it is time to get a REAL QA Team over there!
its very bad patch

omega64: Are you sure your video options are the same?
Maybe they were reset to higher values.

ashi.kurimuzon: Still the same, nothing was changed. I turned everything down and I still get crappy fps tho I wouldn't say unplayable. It's just not as smooth as it used to be.

boger: This!
Quite common in my game as well, many places, many events...
Now, rolling back to 1.08, don't know if my saves will be back compatible.

ashi.kurimuzon: I'm considering to roll back but that means spending a few hours of my life downloading another 16 gigs worth of patch. Oh well.
Hey, great news!!! I reverted back to v1.08.4 and... saves are not back compatible. So beware!!!
I just lost a big chunk of my gameplay and now can do nothing but wait for a 1.10 fix.
Everything works fine for me, only two issues:

1) My key-bindings reset (not a huge deal but kinda annoying)
2) The graphics presets are all "IIII II IIIII III" instead of Ultra, High, etc.

Enjoying this game so far though, just started playing a couple of days ago!
Seems like I've lucked out with this patch. I've gotten increased fps and increased mouse reaction time. Have had one CTD during a two hour session and none before the patch, so there are some problems. But mostly this patch fixed things for me.

I have one question though. I read somewhere that this patch were supposed to introduce better inventory management. Apart from having two extra pocket slots I don't see any changes. Did I read this wrong?
Reinstalled the whole 32 gbs or whatever it was.
In between I cleaned the registry and deleted any left over folders, including gamesave folder etc.
Clean install in other words.

It did nothing at all.
I was looking forward to get involved with this game again now with the DLC coming up andall, but no such fun it seems.

I'm no expert, but since no setting in game makes any difference at all to combat the low fps, I assume this is some bad coding and not a change in hardware req. along with the patch and all its changes.

To me it looks like some broken link with the CPU have been introduced with the patch, not utilizing it properly, since the game can't handle background characters at all any more (for me atleast).
As soon as there is more than 3 characters on screen the framrate drops.
That means I can't enter the tiniest village without the feeling of playing a slideshow.

I run win 10 64, but from what I have read that should just be a plus when it comes to performance for The Witcher 3.

I hope they can fix this.

Edit: I don't know if anyone is interested to read about this but, yeah.

The CPU utilization hoovers at 50% while playing the game, using all available cores.
The difference between standing at the port and looking to the ocean, and finding yourself in the middle of a market with dozens of characters, is about 10%.
No idea if that's normal or not.

The GPU utilization is around 95-98% when having a crowd free screen, as soon as I turn around and enter the market the utilization drops to 30-40%.
Definitely looks like the GPU is being bottlenecked.

None of these issues were present pre-patch.

While looking at this I disabled every energy saving feature in both GPU and CPU, forcing a constant voltage and hz level at full speed for respective hardware.

I can't make any quest CDPR, always when i will start dialog game crashes to desktop :(
Please I love this game and i want to enjoy it. I wish you will fix Witcher 3 as possible as soon.
Why did you raise the Level requirement for the Griffin Gear to 11?? I'm currently a Lv. 10 and now I can no longer use the gear I was using. Please fix this.
new patch screwed up performance for me big time. used to get 60-80fps with rare drops into the mid 50's when in towns now the game barely holds 45fps after updating to 1.10 in big town areas.

this is with the same exact graphics settings i used with 1.08. definitely reverting back

specs
i7 950
980ti
12gb ddr ram
GTX970-G1

no change in performance, if anything 2-5fps higher using the same settings

hairfx - all off&min

shadows,grass and water on high

everything else on ultra

1080p
Update to my original post it seems the problem for the decreased performance is the d3d11 dll in the bin/x64 directory and once removed/deleted the performance is increased substantially, even BETTER than 1.08
I just began a new game under Fresh Start, after downloading the new patch. I tried to get to the Place of power in White Orchard cemetery, but the wraith there is now immortal. I can get it down to zero but it never disappeared into the crypt; I can keep hitting it but it never goes away!
