Lifeless Planet got an update:
Patch 1.5 (06.08.2015)

- The Premier Edition includes new original music from acclaimed Lifeless Planet composer Rich Douglass. In addition, there's also a number of visual upgrades throughout, most notably the addition of normal-mapped terrains. NOTE! CHANGED Telepath Tactics, changelog (http://www.an-ovel.com/downloads/chg/chg_1428918226.htm)
NOTE! ADD +++ Patch 1.040 (06.08.2015)
NOTE! ADD +++ – first and foremost, a fix which addresses one of the game’s biggest, long-running criticisms: how zoomed out it appears to be on large monitors. When in fullscreen mode, the game now actively upscales so that everything that’s visible on the screen appears as large as it would be if you were playing with 1280 x 720 screen resolution. This includes the game’s text, which means that it should remain legible even on 4K monitors.
NOTE! ADD +++ – to keep the game’s pixel art from looking absolutely terrible when scaled up to an arbitrary resolution, all bitmap images now have a smoothing algorithm applied to them when the game is scaling.
NOTE! ADD +++ – the fullscreen title screen graphics are now smoothed so that they are no longer jagged and janky-looking when stretched to fit monitor dimensions in fullscreen.
NOTE! ADD +++ – in the Settings menu, I replaced custom font size functionality with an option to toggle fullscreen scaling off for people with weird monitor dimensions (or who simply prefer the practicality of having a zoomed-out view of the battlefield).
NOTE! ADD +++ – implemented XML-based saving and loading in place of SOL files. This means that going forward, saved game files will be easy to locate, be human-readable, and be subject to easy editing in case bugs cause characters or attacks to duplicate (or otherwise get messed up). The new XML saved game files will be located in Documents > My Games > Telepath Tactics > Saved Games.
NOTE! ADD +++ – added a “Convert Save Files” button to the title menu; if you press it, it will automatically generate XML saved game files based on your old SOL saved game files. This way, you can continue playing your saved games from pre-1.04 versions of Telepath Tactics.
NOTE! ADD +++ – fixed a bug in which one could not swap reserve characters onto the battlefield after moving the Characters in Reserve window around.
NOTE! ADD +++ – fixed a bug in which weather effects would stop animating mid-battle.
NOTE! ADD +++ – talking, interacting with doors, giving inventory items, and using objects with a Use trigger now require the interacting character to either be flying, or have an elevation difference no greater than 1 with the target.
NOTE! ADD +++ – fixed tutorial message not displaying midway through the Meridian rescue mission.

Say, mrkgnao. Wanted to ask a question in this thread but since you are the most active here from what I can see I will address it to you, hope you don't mind about that. Oh and anyone is welcome to answer.

Since now GOG shows change log within Galaxy client and site itself, what is the point of this thread at the moment?
Just curious.

Thanks for answering in advance.

1. GOG's update flags have bugs and they don't always get set by the GOG staff. mrkgnao has no bugs and MaGOG is automatic.
2. For items mrkgnao owns, MaGOG is not fooled when GOG silently updates things (ie. the Galaxy and Win10 compatibility updates).
3. MaGOG catches bugs and accidental changes which frequently cause data to vanish from GOG catalog pages (eg. causing inaccurate lists of supported platforms) or alternative language installer links to point to English (or sometimes other languages).
4. It helps people who can't view the changelogs because they won't buy things until some show-stopping bug is fixed.
5. GOG doesn't always flag an update when they add a new platform (eg. Without this thread, I wouldn't have noticed the addition of Linux versions for certain games)

Think of this like an automatic audit log to complement GOG's hand-edited changelog support. (Which is definitely ironic. Usually, it's the company that releases the firehose of automatic update information and the users that post summarized versions.)

Just curious.

Thanks for answering in advance.
Several reasons:
1) GOG occasionally makes changes without a changelog (and then often also without an update flag). These are usually changes that GOG considers not interesting enough to inform us about. The only way of knowing about these is this thread (or querying MaGog on a regular basis via a script, as at least one person does).

2) The changelog tells what features have changed, but does not tell which files changed. Do you need to download the installer again or just the patch, or both? Windows, Mac, Linux? Again, this thread is usually the only source for this knowledge.

3) GOG rarely reports about removed files. If you wish to know about them, this is the place.

4) The changelog is accessible only if you own the game. What if you're waiting for some change in order to buy the game? How would you know that the change is finally available on GOG?

5) Some of the changes reported here are not changes to the downloadable files, but rather changes to the game pages (e.g. a linux version is no longer planned for an upcoming game), which some people wish to know about, yet cannot, short of checking all 1100+ game pages every day, for GOG does not report such changes anywhere.

6) Judas monitors this thread closely, so it's a good place to report game page and library bugs and get them fixed quickly, rather than receiving the regular "We are investigating the problem internally, but I can't promise an ETA when this might get fixed. I apologize for any inconvenience caused" message from support.

7) It's a great thread to complain about stuff among like-minded old geezers.

Thanks guys for answering and elaborating on the issue.
Looks like some of you guys do a work that should be done by GOG :D

I was surprised I must admit, I didn't expected so much differences.

Shouldn't GOG just create a page for updates like you guys do here in this thread? An official and organized page that you can sort and browse? Sounds like a no brainer to me.

An additional use of this thread, at least for me, is in relation to not always downloading updates as soon as they're made available. As you well know, if one checks out the changelog, the notification indicator goes away. I check this thread to see which updates are of interest to me, i.e. keep the update indicator(s) until I'm ready to proceed with the download(s) I care about and clear the rest.

Question regarding Pillars of Internity - do I understand it correctly that if one downloads the latest installer, they only need the 1.06 Hotfix patches?
