Johny.: off-topic: I noticed comminuty have bad days now :P (I see the reason behind it) One person even indicated I was full of sh.. just for asking a question. ;) I hope our (GOG & comminuty) relationship will get back to normal soon. In the end, it's a relationship full of love. :P

Sorry for not answering forum-related questions or issues, it's not really my area. About notifications on forum replies - GOG (woo, personification :P ) is considering options internally, but he can't promise anything to you.

eiii: Removing the notifications from the web site and providing them only in Galaxy already has been worse enough. But after the community had developed a replacement, thanks to Barefoot_Monkey, in a 2nd step also to remove the API used by that replacement, again without providing an alternative, hasn't been nice at all and I would like to hear why that has been necessary.
Galaxy doesn't have them (forum replies) too right now.

It's in progress to get forum replies notifications and chat notifications on www.gog.com

Well at least it is broken for everyone ;-)
Thanks for taking the time to check this thread and give some answers.

Sorry, "considering options internally" doesn't exactly equate to "bringing back notifications being in progress". Unless the considering options phase is the actual progress made so far. Which would imply that when GOG introduced the new nav system and elcook made this post, GOG hadn't really thought of a single way to implement that "work on those from the grounds up" decision.

The notifications system was not some minor cosmetic thing on here. It still boggles the mind that you (GOG) rolled out a nav system that's missing essential functionality, and think that "we're considering options internally, but can't promise you anything" is fine.

eiii: I also did not post in a thread which got deleted when I run into this bug. These are just "random" forum hiccups, like my inability to post in the Gremlins, Inc. thread while I was able to post in that thread before and still can post in any other thread. [...]
There's some serious hiccuping going on with the "My posts" page. Right now that I have zero forum replies, the "My posts from last 24 hours" is completely gone, and only the "My posts from last week" section shows, still incomplete, of course.

Bye-bye "My posts" page, Barefoot_Monkey restored forum replies flags, so time to go our separate ways.

Thanks for your answer, even when it's not a good news.

They somehow must have "forgotten" that step in the development cycle as it usually comes before the implementing changes step. ;)

And again, Barefoot_Monkey to the rescue! This is not exactly a glorious chapter for GOG's web developers.

kbnrylaec: 1. The notification system was already broken for years, even when it was here on the webpage.
2. Instead of repairing the notification system, GOG pull out it totally from webpage, and semi-force everyone to install the damn stupid Galaxy

I used to trust GOG and have bought over 1000 games here.
After all of these, I doubt I can trust GOG any more.
And in doing that, they leave us Linux users out in the cold.

If you're comfortable with using userscripts, I suggest installing Barefoot Essentials; among a ton of other features, it restores game updates, forum replies and chat notifications, and it does it very well.

Great. Now I have an invisible game on my wishlist, an invisible hidden game and a very visible "Overlay game" in my library *sigh*

I got something similar for a few (random) games a couple of days ago, difference was that the game title displayed where it says "Game overlay" for you.

Closing and reopening the library page fixed it. Note that It might take more than one close & reopen, though - the first one affected some other random games, while fixing some of the initially affected ones, but the next one seemed to do the trick.

Do you still have it after https://www.gog.com/account/refresh ? :)

Well it is gone now.
But just for your info, I tried the account refresh yesterday and that did not fix the problem.
More than a year after HTTPS everywhere we are still using HTTP URLs? ;P

The links to the Role-Playing Sale on the news page are HTTP.

The link to the GOGdownloader links page for SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars is broken. I sent a message to Support. Let's see how long it takes them to fix it.
