joppo: Either someone made an honest programming mistake by changing one thing thinking it wouldn't have the side-effects that we're seeing OR someone had a really amazingly stupid idea that we should all be seeing some content localized no matter what our actual language choices are.
It's not a huge problem, but it is annoying.
Luckily it doesn't support Romanian, so no change for me, but when sites do that it's awfully infuriating, so I would call it a huge problem. I even know sites that refuse to let you switch, if you're in a country whose official language they support you just get switched back even if you select something else. And for example I stopped checking IGN when they added Romanian and the cookie reset every 24h, and that was to send me to the local version of the site entirely, not just UI language. Wrote a message to complain, they told me I can still select the US edition if I want, just that I have to do it every day, I said yeah, not happening, bye bye, and stuck to it since.
Even first-time setting should grab language from browser if set, and then any localization setting the user makes should be remembered for good.
Pet peeve...
