After listening to the detectives squabble for a while, the Puzzlemaster looked as his watch.
"Jiminy crickit! Come ON, people! We're burnin' daylight!", he screamed.
"Look, I don't care about your methods, just GET THE SEARCHES DONE! G'WAN! GO!"
"Wait, what are YOU going to do while we're gone?", detective Wald asked.
"I'm...uh...going to think about the case. I need time to work my brain on it, y'know.", the Puzzlemaster responded, closing the bagel drawer he had just opened.
The detectives all scrambled out the door and set off on their searches. Meanwhile, Zeogold put his feet on his desk, checked around nervously for both lurking Katts and Djesteres, then happily munched on a cheese bagel.
"I've already got this case figured out," ZFR said, lighting a cigarette. "The only question if Bler's got a better theory, which I doubt."
"Well, I'd be able to make one if you'd stop lighting my hat on fire!", yelled the smurf.
Detective Hendra removed Bler from ZFR's fingers and extinguished the flaming Phrygian cap, while Detective Olf affixed a tiny fedora to his head.
"Come, friends!", shouted Detective Bow. "Let us ROCK this search...eh?"
"Seriously? You had to include the Canadian 'eh' stereotype?", asked Ashwald.
"Well, I can't help it. It's in my nature."
"Says who? Aren't you like any other individual?"
"It's just a Canadian thing."
"You say that, but...I dunno. It feels almost as if everything we say right after we leave Zeogold's office is controlled by some other being who's just inserting words into our mouths and causing us to do things we normally wouldn't, using us as some sort of caricatures, puppets in his ridiculous game of-"
At this point, defying all rules of physics, Ashwald somehow managed to kick himself in his own behind. Everyone then decided it was best they get on their way. In the meantime, Skeletonbow played a song, which may or may not be useful to the case in some way and possibly inserted to give a clue or potentially mislead or goodness knows what. The question that SHOULD be asked is how he played an electric guitar without any amps or even so much as an outlet around, but instead we'll ask what the meaning of "Mystery Trip" could be.
Skeletonbow's song for today is:
Ride Captain Ride, by Blues Image (1970)
Night falls. All is dark in the office of the Puzzlemaster, but if anyone looked in the window, they'd see a figure sitting at a desk pensively, with its fingers together, waiting, wondering, pondering the details of a great mystery.
