darthspudius: Its not that interesting. Everything surrounding the new movie has been a disappointment.

Breja: Well, "disappointment" implies expecting something good, or at least better. I can't say I was expecting anything good out of it at all. Actually, given how low my expectations were for anything Star Wars at this point, Rebels was quite the positive surprise. Though Rebels wasn't part of "sorrounding the new movie" exactly.
Put it like this, I thoroughly enjoyed the hated prequels. I still do to this day. But in comparison to them, I had half the fun then I did watching that trilogy. As bad as the script was at time, the horrifically childish plot of The Force Awakens showed so many holes that even my seven year old pointed out things to me. That is some kind of blasphemy to Star Wars fans lol.

And we're supposed to be friends?

You're not mine! We're not connected! I deny you!

Told you! :P I would even say I prefer the prequels to Return of the Jedi.

...
So much this. That's the exact same way I feel about it. In particular I loved Episode 1, the most hated of the three. It has some real on-the-edge-of-my-seat moments, like the pod race and the fight against Darth Maul. The new film had no moments like that for me :(
The only undeniably good parts fore me were the beginning where they actually made storm troopers look dangerous, the part with the wappitty trooper, and the final scene.
You people are insane. It's like I'm in some terrible mirror universe. Loved Episode I? Edge of seat moments? What in the fuck is going on? AAAARGBLGRAAA!

The lightsabre fights were better in the prequals.

The Force Awakens fight felt like some Star Wars fan film like Fight Scenes :P

But than that fucking excuse comes in and says "Ah the fights in the prequals are too much of a dance, in Force Awakens the fights have more depth and emotion"

Please :P

No what is insane is that whilst the prequels get shat on, things like the poor script and some seriously bad acting in The Force Awakens gets a pass. The ginger nazi character, Phasma, the lead pilot... they were seriously awful! Iv seen better delivered lines in The Holiday Special.

And lets not forget the movie's wasted Orchestral Score.

I barely remember anything from the movie's soundtrack.

The Prequals at least gave us these gems:

The music pissed me off with no end. It was so generic. Some of the videos had better original scores.

Not from me. I've gone at length about the multitude or reasons The Force Awakens is a poor movie. But still, the prequels are such a collosal failure on every basic level of storytelling and film making I seriously can't wrap my head around what you are saying. It's like seeing people pointing at a cat and saying it's a dolphin.

The prequels actually had a story. Great score. They did have some fantastic set pieces. Sound design was magnificent. The only thing I don't like is some pretty odd moments in the script, but the actual story. I much prefer it to anything else Star Wars at the moment.

I generally call it my opinion. I know Star Wars fans expect you to only like what they say to like but I couldn't give two shits.

:D
So, I think it might be worth pointing out that Rebels again had a very strong episode with Shroud of Darkness. In 20 minutes they managed to have stronger, more impactful story than Force Awakens even attempted. Ok, that's not saying much, but really, it was very good. Character driven, with a surprise redemption of sorts for last seasons villain, a creepy, moody moment that made Vader feel scary again, and in general just felt like Star Wars should, a sci-fi fantasy. Can't we get these people to write the movies?
