Too late, man. Fairfox has been here since 2010, and now she has been bullied out of the forums by some *mean people*. Great accomplishment to all, who have participated in this.

It's what the gog forum has become, it's what it is now. It's the mindset of our times, smug intolerance to harmless deviance. Fantasies of normalization and uniformity. And cathartic scapegoating.

Always a relief when I measure how my friends and the people around me, "in real life", are the very opposite of the kind of people that inhabit and define these boards.

Harmless deviance? She abandoned her native language and spammed the forum with gibberish and nonsense for months on end. I'm not one for ignore buttons, but in her case I would have made an exception. The fact that she got butthurt over criticisms towards her... 'writing', that's not our fault.

The real pathetic thing to me was how so many of you circled the wagons around her and decided that was a sword worth falling on. Pick and choose your battles, but Mt. Mushmouth was not exactly the best hill to fight on.

But hey, look at it this way. I made my triumphant return not too long before she split. You lost a broken keyboard, and you gained a legendary keyboard commando. I'd say that was +1 for the forum.

You know, if you want to point fingers, why not point it at the more likely reason she left: moderation?

Yeah, Fairfox got downvoted to hell and back, but that didn't seem to cause her much concern. Quite the contrary, the more she got downvoted, the more she seemed to double down on her shitposting in an act of defiance.

It wasn't until after she was banned over the continued use of her newly adopted pet phrase "sperg out" that she eased on on her shitposting spree. About a week later she left the forum.

Coincidence? I don't think so. Of course, none of you lot will admit that.

I'm late to the party and I've no idea what's this about but I hope Fairfox comes back, I'm one of the odd ones who enjoyed his/her writing style. I liked the smart crypticness of the comments and although sometimes I couldn't be bothered to read them entirely, most of the times I did, and it was fun. Hopefu-lee we can read more Fairfox's weirdness again soon enough.

I'm not sure that's the real reason.
She left both Discord and the unofficial forum 2 months ago even if we treated her perfectly.
She said that she doesn't like gaming after all, that she doesn't have much in common with gamers and she's hanging out with different people.
So it was just a matter of time.

Frankly, I had nothing against Fairfox, but it was to the point that I didn't bother to read her posts anymore. See "Fairfox" as the author---> jump to next post.

Plus, I didn't know she was a "she" until, like, 3 months ago.

I think you are wrong here. After she was banned she came back and hosted a giveaway. Even that was downvoted and spam deleted.

After that she opened another thread in which she asked the community about her writing style and explained why she writes the way she does. When people (especially non-native speakers of english) told that they really have problems to understand her posts and therefore ignore or downvote them most of the time, she said she wouldn't completely return to "normal" language, but would try to madjust her style, so it''s would be easier to read.

She really did that and her posts where still downvoted or deleted. And that's when she left. Somehow I doubt it had anything to do with moderation.

also, it may be worth seeking some kind of treatment if you are laughing out loud every-time you complete a sentence, I mean that can't at all be good for you
