Game: Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
WineHQ AppDB link:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=503

Distro: Fedora 28
DE:
Cinnamon 3.8.4
Kernel: 4.16.3
Graphics card: AMD RX 470 4GB
Graphics driver:
amdgpu-open
WINE version: 3.0.2

How does it run: Playable, with some problems.
Details: Cutscenes only show a black screen, but the audio still plays. Skipping the cutscenes and playing the game works fine. Both the opening/intro and in-game cinematics are affected, so it can take away from the experience. I set the game to run in a virtual desktop, and it ran at my native desktop resolution (1680x1050).

File hash of the installer is required, thanks.
Also, this has some platinum & gold ratings that mention working movies. It would be better to try and fix them. E.G. you are likely missing the necessary packages in your Fedora install. Whether that's 32-bit gstreamer plugins, LAV filter package, etc. I'm not sure. IIRC, Fedora doesn't install some of them by default. If it's still giving you trouble then terminal output might be useful.

Alright, I'll see if I can get that working. I had some problems with this on Manjaro a while ago too, so it's a weird one for sure.. I was planning on editing in the installer hash later. How do I get it?
I'm sure some people will find this interesting, (not my work btw):

Assuming you still have the installer laying around then e.g. md5sum --tag installer-name.*. You can also manually download the .xml file for each installer file, which contains GOG's MD5, if you didn't want to download the installer again.

Ganni1987: I'm really interested to see how it performs / if it runs under DXVK.
DXVK is pretty damn wip right now. I tried some games with it and, while they work, lots of shaders are missing
Can't get sound working for Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece. Otherwise the gameplay and everything else is perfect.
Wine 3.11 through playonlinux. I tried other versions but it was the same.

I'd be interested in knowing how Overlord 2 runs under WINE. Results on the appdb are mixed, but it has a gold rating.

For anyone interested, both Overlord and Overlord II have native Linux versions on Steam, and they don't need the client at all once downloaded.

And in case this wasn't the kind of answer you were hoping for, I'll add that the DRM-free Windows build available on the Humble Trove worked out of the box and seemingly perfect with Wine Staging v3.10 or v3.11, so GOG's version is likely to work as well.
If anyone's interested in Shadow Warrior 2 (current weekly sale), it runs great with DXVK.

I have it working here, using Wine 3.8-staging, my dll-override: https://pastebin.com/DwiUk04G

Yeah, native Mac versions too, but unfortunately ported by Virtual Programming, and the ports are crap, or at least Overlord is. Seems to run perfectly with WINE, except I got stuck trying to get a gamepad working because of the Xbox nonsense.

Indeed.. I see now that both games are native on Steam. It's always annoying to see that we are missing Linux-ports that are available elsewhere. I might just get it there then, but I'll try asking support about it first.

Yeah, dunno why but I always thought they were Wine-wrappers (probably because they were ported by Virtual Programming).

How I am supposed to use this in Playonlinux? Basically where do I paste that?
