Depanza is a supervillain, rumored to have been named Krogh before taking on the current name upon rising to the rank of Grandmaster of the Order of the Belly (if I translated that right), which are a fortunately reclusive order of dark sorcerers making their home in a fortress that dominates a foreboding island, deep in the Sea of Shadows, where few dare to venture and risk attracting their wrath. The most notable trait of the followers of the Order of the Belly is the fact that they neither draw their magical power from the world, or from other planes of existence, nor regenerate it through meditation or sleep, but produce it inside their bodies in the same way others produce the energy needed for regular day to day activities, namely from food, hence the name. Highly skilled members of the Order are able to generate magical energy almost instantly after ingesting edible or, in case of the most powerful, the Grandmaster obviously being the most notable example, even otherwise inedible substances or objects.
