Just popped in here to say hello and point out what's I've been up to on GOGWiki.

I was mistaken in my assumption that InstallerInfo-C was the new format and I went through every game I have and updated the pages with that model. Eli has informed me, very nicely, that the format is not finalized and those changes needed to be reversed.

That being said I am slowly doing so while I wait to hear which to leave for testing purposes (hoping I messaged him properly).

I've made a few contributions in the past and this was me going through my catalog and updating the Wiki as well as finding what titles I needed to redownload in the process.

In regards to the Witcher 2: I added all 13 files with md5's and such. This brings the listing over the 1,000 character limit. I tried a number of combination and several commits later I thought to use MS Words count feature. The conclusion is that either the character limit needs to be raised to roughly 1,100 (I think the listing currently weighs in at 1,056) or 1 files info will need to be left off.

Also, I am unable to figure out how to update the ScummVM version number, if in fact I have the ability to do so. Version 1.6.0 has been released. I've updated the only listing I can find but it does not have a global effect.

In summary, this is why you are seeing or will see so many commits by me and why that particular game is out of sorts.

Take care all and I hope to make more contributions that will not require partial reversion. I have a couple more games to add once I get through the task at hand.

Edit: I some cases I did not include language packs as I deleted them or did not download them. I may add them in the future.

TheJoe:
Why is the installer data stored as a #switch instead of nested templates? The current implementation increases editing complexity and also adds extra server load (among other things, every page has to be parsed again whenever the template is changed in any way). Switching to nested templates would maintain all current functionality with easier editing and a lower performance hit.

You should seriously consider changing to such an implementation. I can provide advice/assistance with this if you need it.

Please contact Eli who is currently trying to implement quite a few other changes as well. Either on the PM. Not sure how nested templates would help, but I assume you know more things about wiki coding than I do.

Thanks for the heads-up, I've left him a message. :)
I see that registrations are still closed. I don't want to bother admins uselessly with PMs so I ask around here... Can I join? :D

Sure, can you PM me your email address and desired username?
Whats been happening with the wiki over the past 12 months, I have barely looked at it since the begining when there were only a couple of people putting the foundations of it into place

my fallout comes up as 0FC0CD177C2084FC4B09BB82ED481478, and I downloaded it from gog.com
I use "MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility.exe" from cnet or download.com, I forget; to check sums, not sure how you are checking your sums.

ps. please add md5, sha-1, and sha-256 hashes for Hotline Miami, I can never get that game to run on my pc, perhaps currupt?

Edit; List of wiki pages missing hashes, and/or hashes for the latest patches, thanks~!
FTL: Faster Than Light needs hashes for newest release and patch, thanks.

Oh cool. They finialized the game page templates right? Just not all of them are completed yet I guess.
Can we submit our hashes for games that don't yet have their hashes on the site?

Take a look at Template:Installerinfo for the format in which they are added. If you have an account on GOGWiki, feel free to add them yourself. If you don't have an account, either contact one of the Wiki administrators or send them to me and I'll add them.
On another note, can anyone make a script, so that our
https://secure.gog.com/account/games/list
page has custom collom? (that we can set numbers to?)
Because I'd like to keep track of games I've tried, and those that I beat

Icons for progress can either be number%, indicating how far along you think you are to beating the game.
Or a filled/unfilled bar denoting % done.

Of coarse, I don't know how we can get a script to remember what # we set for each game...
Can scripts allow themselves to be edited from within the pages they alter, and save that file to on our harddrive?
I know permissions within html/javascript on firefox doesn't allow anything to edit files on our harddrives (for security DOH).

Actually, gog should do something to help us keep track of what games we tried, and/or beat.

I attached a crappy mock up with just plain text.

My fallout comes up with MD5 "setup_fallout_2.0.0.14.exe"

And the wiki page now has MD5 "setup_fallout_2.0.0.14.exe"

I truely don't know who is in charge, but we shouldn't be changing it back and forth.
One of these is correct and the other is incorrect.

I use download.cnet.com
