when it comes to boardgames alone, please don't forget about the possibility to use BGA + discord of any voice capability application (well, BGA has its own voice chat feature, in beta, but it is quite unergonomic so far, so....)
BGA stands for boardgamearena (just google it if you need)
need to create a free user account, communauty is large and there are many english speaking folks...

when it comes to video games, afaic, i do prefer DRM free stuff as much as possible and (additional requirement) something with controller support (for action stuff) or that requires mostly mouse (for non realtime strategy and such)
i can use steam, but less games possible for me

also regarding time, yes i'm in europe time (paris time), but i can be a nigh owl, depends on the days (sunday and wenesday evening are roughly a "no" for me, at least past midnight - my time - because i have medical treatment outside early in monday and thursday mornings)

although regarding voicechat, be prepared to have your ears bleeding from my awful french accent :)

I warn you the same about my awful American accent.
I wanna join!!!! Although, I'm not sure that I have that many multiplayer games on steam that my current situation can run. Still though, I would like to join in when I can!

Cyraxpt: If this somehow gets going it would be interesting to gathet a group to play tower of salem, it' a f2p browser game, people enjoy playing the forum mafia so why not give this a try? Problem would be to get something like 10~15 goggers to play at the same time...

zeogold: Oh, I love that game. The chaos is just unbeatable.
I truly wish we could get some sort of GOG thing going, but the main problem lies in time zones (everybody has to be online at the same time).

XYCat: I have tableflip simulator
avatar
zeogold: QUICKLY! GRAB HIM! HOLD HIM DOWN! DRAG HIM TO THE GAMING ROOM!
avatar
Matewis: Damn Magicka is a lot of fun coop! Apart from the bugs that is :P
avatar
zeogold: Co-op? It's supposed to be co-op? The way we've been playing it, it's more like killing each other as often as possible without dying to the NPCs.
Did you ever try Magicka: Wizard Wars?
Hell, that was some manic fun & a half!
(until paradix murdered it...)
avatar
zeogold: First things first:
*ahem*

MULTIPLAYER!

There we are. That should scare off and clear out all the people who are going to show up just to say "I can't stand multiplayer games, they're like DRM!"
avatar
dtgreene: Actually, my main reason for not playing multiplayer isn't DRM (which is not necessary for multiplayer), but rather the fact that I dislike competition, and always have since I was young. Also, there are issues with harassment and griefing, so I would prefer not to play with strangers.

Anyway, while I won't be participating, I believe Unepic has an interesting mutiplayer mode that might be worth looking into.
There are soooooooooo many games you can play online that you don't have to compete in.
Take Torchlight games.
It's a group of players running around killing varied mobs in open world areas or dungeons. Hell, only difference between offline & online is you've got others there to help.
From what I recall, you all get your own loot (been a while, I forget) & the only competing going on, is players v the mobs. No pvp involved at all.

Check out any of the games listed (well, Magicka you can "accidentally" kill teamies) but most are safe from pvp & playing games online with others can actually be a giggle, and that's coming from me & I hate people ;p

Well, I own Magicka, Tabletop Simulator, Torchlight II, and Injustice. So, I'm somewhat interested. The big problem I have though, is time.
Tabletop Simulator is really diverse and so much fun!

I'd like to play "Don't Starve Together", if anyone else has it.

Fantasysci5: really diverse
That's an odd way of describing Cards Against Humanity.
TABLETOP SIM, NEED MORE VICTIMS*!
*friends to play with.

I would if it was on GOG, but the devs didn't care.
I'm interested in multiplayer for these games:
- Ai War
- Star Ruler 2
- Ashes of the Singularity (base game not Escalation)
- Magicka
- Torchlight 2
- Van Helsing
- Victor Vran
- Ultimate General Gettysburg
- Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion
- 8-bit Armies/Hordes
- Settlers 2: The next generation and Settlers 3/4
- Hammerwatch
- Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Saga
- Cossacks 3
- Total Annihilation and Kingdoms
- Knights and the Merchants: Peasant Rebellion

Also Magicka as I mentioned before.
