The term generally is considered to be an umbrella one because it contains a plethora of subgernes that often have contradictory points of focus.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with filling bars with colors. When the evil Zark and his horrible henchsprites have drained all color from your world, a wizard's gotta do what a wizard's gotta do ;-)
