Yup, typical SJW, telling others how THEY need to re-brand...all because of the connotations they keep popularizing ..
As I said before, i don't live in the south, but I have visited. Still I'm not going to pretend to understand how those who actually live there, view their own symbolism. And when I mentioned earlier about the War of Northern Aggression, I'm of the understanding that is what the Civil War is often called in the Southern US. I've been personally corrected in the past...

And it should be noted that the United States are a confederation of states. Each state has certain rights within the national constitution to self-govern. It was that way in its creation and is still theoretically that way today.

Either way, you do as you do in every other issue here, you just keep slinging more mud and moving the goalposts all to keep attempting to justify why your call for others to change and remove things should continue...

No I was supporting politicians from those states who were representing a proportion of those states' citizens who felt it was time to remove that flag from their state flag - I was saying that I think their idea is a good one in light of recent events

RWarehall: All I know is if you travel down South in the United States, there is a good chance someone will try to educate you on the War of Northern Aggression...
I don't blame them for that. The North did a lot of fucked up shit to the Southerners.

It was a war, there is never a good side in a war. The closest thing to a good side in a war were the Alies in WWII and still they did many unethical acts for the sake of victory.

That is no excuse for some of the things the North did.

TStael: So Gamergate was supposed to oppose, expose and bring to shame "corruption" or lack of source criticalitsy (close ties) of gaming journalists to game publishers.

This is the pitch as far as I know.

Did it actually do any of that, substantially? ;-)
avatar
RWarehall: Answer to your question...Yes it did, in Spades!
In Spades? Be a bit more concrete pray!

How has GG improved balance of gaming journalism? And have u in fact done anything about it?

I actually e-mailed the development studio of Serpent in Staglands to send an evaluation copy to dome.fi - because I cannot say they would have praised it - but I know that Finnish gaming journalism is rather well, in terms of having journalistic standards.

In Spades?? But u never contacted a game developer out of love, did u? ;-)

Of course not. I am just saying war hurts a lot of inocents on both sides.

Everyone should do themselves the favor of reading both the Federalist and anti-Federalist papers. It's not just a great bit if education on how the USA was founded, but it's an 18th century version of a text room flame war between two well versed trolls.

Eh, as per usual the states rights thing varies in popularity due to issue related politics. For every SJW fag screaming about how great it was the south lost the war and states rights was defeated, there's a dozen more that celebrate the idea of pot legislation in Colorado and Oregon. Ultimately, politics makes hypocrites of us all.

How about reading the thread? There have been plenty of victories...
Many online magazines have revised their ethics policies.
You can even see it in many of the more recent articles where the better ones have gone away from one-sided propaganda pieces.
Any number of writers were called out for unethical relations with the subjects of their articles including Patricia Hernandez and her many articles promoting her former roommates games...All these articles now come with a disclaimer as well,,,,
And a number of controversial figures have "left" their positions for less prestigious posts

I'd say, we have victories in Spades...

Always funny that...someone uninvested from the UK claiming they are supporting those in those States who have Social Justice leanings similar to theirs. Quite an excuse...for me, I'm from the North, what the South decides to do with regards to their flag is up to them. It's not for me to support any side as its an issue with contexts that I believe only those native to the state can fully understand.

And the point about the War of Northern Aggression was merely this...there are two sides to every story and without trying to understand the viewpoint from both the winners and losers, you'll never be close to understanding an event such as that. I do recall the end of that war was pretty bleak with the North clearly winning, they were still burning down towns in the South...

Yes they did. Still; gotta note that rubber spine enforced with organs made out of cash and a thinking processes as vile as or viler than even Fox News..............Steve Jobs would turn in his grave knowing his company is melting like wax in moderate temperature.
There's a good side to everything, I've just watched my Blu-Ray-Disc of "Gone with the wind" again with someone and it's still a great movie in spite of all the problematic content (and boy there's a lot of it in there) that's an obvious part of the setting. I always like to show people, that it's not the greasy romance they think it is.

LeonardoCornejo: not to mention that females rape males almost at the same rate, but nobody says anything about teaching women not to rape.
avatar
Fever_Discordia: Wut? I'm not sure where you get that from, I don't think I've heard of a single case of a woman raping a man in all my years on the planet, I'm not sure it was even really physically possible until Viagra was invented...
Catfishing is and has been a thing for awhile, man. Thing is, most guys laugh at their buddies it happens to and guys tend to take it differently, but under the same technicalities, any unwanted sex is still rape.

WTF did I just watch? A Japanese computer person tried to do a Stephen Hawking voice, while also spitting out partial sentences and the occasional rant in Mandarin Chinese, followed by a bunch of anime clips edited together to look like a Pepsi commercial.

My brain is either really tuned in or completely fried. Either way, I'm not sure if that video helped much.
