Over the last few years, I have been periodically warning against the megacorporate-bureaucratic complex's unending assaults on our freedom and rights, especially with regards to a free Internet. In previous years, this was received well. In recent months, the attitude appears to have flipped completely and all of my service to the community here - bringing to light just how close we are to losing our freedom - has been met with open hostility and massive numbers of undeserved downvotes.
I have also warned often against the trends of societal/moral degeneration and its devastating consequences, and every time I have received only downvotes, rabid hostility, and generally been verbally "spat upon".
I know politics aren't allowed here, so I will leave the news articles out of this post to satisfy the unreasonable and ridiculous moderation policy where a discussion based on a legitimate premise faces being locked if enough people are derailing it, which only allows bad actors to get a thread they disagree with locked simply by taking it off topic. Additionally, I have been seeing increasingly hostility from the forum moderation team. (see https://www.gog.com/forum/general/cyberpunk_2077_why_cd_projekt_red_should_stop_pushing_the_bounds_of_mature_content ) Here's an example where a moderator actually mocked me for having the decency to refrain from watching a specific video (post #12 for reference), and it's the same one who has recently been targeting my discussions. Frankly, that's unprofessional and unbecoming of a moderator. For this insult, I will be spending another $20 on a Steam prepaid card when I next have the chance to, hopefully in the near future.
It's ironic how discussions bringing attention to the subject of Internet freedom are... censored here. (see

Welcome to the upside-down immoral dystopia, where most nudity and similar undesirable content is allowed while warning about the potential end of the free information age is met with a thread lock.
As far as I'm concerned, the free internet might as well be over. Almost every other supposedly "free" (as in free speech) forum I've seen has been slowly adopting censorship rules of their own, especially ones against calling for community action on any topic - another ploy by the megacorporate establishment to silence dissent under the guise of "obey the rules" which get stricter and stricter each year until we end up behind a corporate-imposed Chinese-style Great Firewall. Forget the rules - our FREEDOM, WAY OF LIFE, and FUTURE are under assault from all sides. Even Reddit isn't really free anymore (and they use the awful Google ReCAPTCHA).
For all of you "rules are rules" types: If America's Founding Fathers had adopted that mentality, the U.S. would never have become a nation (let alone a superpower), never have the means to intervene in World War II, and Europe would be living under either communism or fascism right now. Sometimes you have to buck the rules to avert disaster.
It's become thoroughly clear that none of you want to listen, all the way from the bottom-feeding trolls up to the moderation team (and everyone in between). Therefore, I post this as a witness against all of you: This will be the last DivisionByZero newsletter post. Since none of you wanted to listen to the painfully obvious honest truth, you won't have it. I won't offer my commentary, advice, or help on this forum regarding the news (except strictly non-political news that matters - no tabloids or celebrity news, please) in the future, as none of you would have it. As it was in the days of Noah, where the people knew nothing before being washed away (despite Noah warning them to repent), so I will stop warning you of the perils immediately facing your freedom, way of life, and future before they are washed away by the crooks who wish to abolish them.
And I will watch, quietly and self-censored (as you would have it, despite so many people here supposedly claiming they're against censorship), as the unholy megacorporate-bureaucratic complex slowly and surely lays your rights, freedom, and future to waste. I'm done helping you.
