In our first GOG 2022 update article, among many things we plan this year, we’ve mentioned we’ll keep on working to make the GOG GALAXY client more dynamic and interesting for users. Today we’d like to invite you to help us test the first update out of many, that we hope will help us achieve this goal.

With the Proteus update, you can feel like at home with the introduction of a new, experimental feature: customising the “Recent” view to your needs. Now you can add or remove widgets and move them around to your liking, and create a completely personalised experience that is tailor fit for you.

To get access to this update, first you need to go to your settings, enter the “General” section and tick the “Experimental features and updates” box.

It’s the first batch of the client customization options we have planned, so let us know how you like it!

To make it easier for you to share your opinions, and for us to listen and gather your comments about the features we’re testing, we’re introducing the experimental features feedback form. It will automatically show up triggered by actions you make in the client.

Once we test the performance of the new feature, gather feedback from you and apply needed fixes, we will release the Proteus update to all GOG GALAXY users.

Would be great if you could list new options are, unless they are and I miss them.

Still no Linux...

Linux support, please.

I'm not really interested in that particular update, but allowing for more customization is good for everyone! :-)

Personally, I just want to use Galaxy to install and launch my games, from GOG or other stores. So what I would like to see in future updates is better library management and the ability to add games that are not referenced on IGDB (you can look at Playnite if you need inspiration for both). I also would like to see a feature within Galaxy to batch download offline installers and keep them up to date (you can look at gogrepoc or another similar tool). And finally the ability to disable/hide anything that has to do with social features (hide Recent page completely, remove friends activity and achievements sections in game page...)

The only Galaxy update I care about it's the Linux update, which has been the most voted feature on the wishlist and marked as "in progress" (for years) but still no word about it.

Now with even less Russians!

While its been a long time since I actively used Linux, I agree with others. You need to get a usable Linux client running.
I used Playnite from long time but i switched back to steam/gog galaxy. I really waiting for big picture mode in gog galaxy or just controller support in galaxy desktop app which help me run games from tv pc without mouse and keyboard :)

In order to customize Galaxy 2.0 exactly how I like it, it would need to look and function 100% identically to Galaxy 1.2.

Please make an option to do that. Then I'd be impressed.

I'm very patient and understanding when it comes to Galaxy (loooooong time user)... but I'm surprised there's even an update to report on, was getting the point where I felt what was next was a "we're discontinuing Galaxy" post... I wish Galaxy would become a major priority for GOG, but it never seems like it is... there are still long standing issues with it since 2.0 first went into beta years ago. Being honest here, it's made me go back to using Steam more solely because of its reliability and features :(

Very nice, thank you. I despised Recently played by others and I'm glad to see it gone. Recently played by friends is of no use to me right now, and I'm thankful I can disable that. It's also good to see a fix for the E7 error I've seen people post about on the forum (never had the issue myself).

Or maybe you will just decide to release it as it is to everyone before proper testing. It's not like that hasn't happened before.

One desirable feature could be the option for manual reorder of games
