Hi! Just thought I would share an amazing and
ambitious venture that I discovered while
strolling through the streets of cyberspace in
my V.R.F.B.X.

I happened upon this fascinating little morsel
titled "Game - A Gaming Documentary Series".
Starting in the turbulent year of 1967 with the
arrival of the game that would later go on to be
universally known as "Pong", the author of this
series attempts to guide us through the various
stages of evolution of computer gaming, year by
year. As of the date of this post he is up to
1981. Please enjoy. :)

Game - A Gaming Documentary Series.
On behalf of CSIS and the RCMP we would like to extend our gratitude to the OP for helping bring justice to these dastardly Romanians (possibly gypsies) for the theft of MY DICE!

Due to your swift posting and liberal use of caps lock we were able to recover the dice unharmed. Appropriate counter measures have been set in place to prevent further dice related incidents. Your medal is in the mail.

Seriously though, when these guys throw out the Get Smart reference in the first episode you know the series is going to be good ;)
Thanks for the heads up B.

Starting with Pong does not give a "COMPLETE AND UTTER HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMES"...
:Comes in thinking this is a rant thread:

:Leaves dissappointed:

The video does (briefly) mention the existence of pre-1958 tick-tack-toe/chess games, no details on them though. They must not have found the Nimrod to be as amusing as the British did either, no mention of it.

I strongly recommend it. It's 100% effective vs. Wile E. Coyotes, but keep in mind that Road Runners will take all the dice not directly attached... still better than nothing!

Oh you'll find out one day. ;) ... or maybe not ... who noze?
Been watching them and they are interesting videos.
Might be particularly interesting when he gets through the year 2000...
What's the bet this documentary is all about the NES/SNES and consoles in general, with little or no references to Apple 2, Amiga etc.

Well the video series covered the year 1979.

The year when the first Video Game RPG ever made, Akallabeth: World of Doom, was released.

What about Beneath Apple Manor and Dungeon Campaign (both 1978)

(from the CRPG book, awesome read).
