zeogold: Granted as well.
Thanks again zeogold for hosting this giveaway! Thank you MarkoH01 for "Time Mysteries 2: The Ancient Spectres"!
I like to humbly request for Aztaka and Chaser, if ofcourse no one else wants it. Cheers.

doctorsinister: Looks like I don't qualify for the giveaway.

zeogold: I apologize, but as I've mentioned before, your registration date is a touch new, and as of yet, nobody has come forward to vouch for your reputability. I would have still went ahead and given you something had the games you requested not been asked for by anybody else, but so far, that's exactly what keeps happening.
This is not an insult to you, but rather an encouragement to participate more in the community.

XxXSprayvWarXxX: I would really love Mass Effect 2! Thanks mate! :)
avatar
zeogold: Let's give this particular one a bit. I want to see if anybody steps forward to vouch for doctorsinister first.

sasuke12: May I have the steam key of legend of grimrock ?
avatar
zeogold: 'Course ya can!
Granted.
avatar
Ritualisto: May I ask for the hidden object game "Time Mysteries 2: The Ancient Spectres"? I already played the first one of the series.
avatar
zeogold: Granted as well.
Alright Zeo I understand. :)

You're very welcome. (and don't forget that all those Artifex Mundi games can be played without steam - just take a look here)
btw: You said you played the first one too. How did it go with this stupid rune puzzle for you? I was nearly fraking out before I solved this after hours of trying.

Yeah the rune puzzle was really stupid. But as far as I remember I only needed about 30 min. Btw I really like the Artifex Mundi hidden object games. You can have nice 4-5 hours of relaxed PC gaming.

P.S.: I finished Deponia 4 last week. Really cool game. For 9,90€ great but 29,99€ seems a bit overpriced.
I am writing for Schizo2015 who would also be interested in "Mass Effect 2" but who has some difficulties with English.
As far as I know the game is not finally gone yet and since it is the first game Schizo2015 has aked for in this thread I guess he should get a chance as well, don't you think? If the game is already gone forget the request - it's all up to zeogold as usual :)

If you like the Artifex Mundi games be sure to check if you have already played all of the ones I donated (or are they all gone meanwhile?).

Re: Deponia 4: Loved it and would have paid about 20 Euro for it. I just posted a big comment on RPS because of their hate review of the game and the whole series. Totally unfair imo.

I've heard - perhaps from you? - that the game is better in its original language.

I know I'm in the minority, but the Deponia game I played (in English) I absolutely hated Rufus by the end of it.

The main problem some people obviously have with the Deponia series is that Rufus is unlikeable. Many people tend to forget that you are not meant to like him in the way that you want to be like him. He is a misguided character living in his own world and despite him being so mean sometimes he does not mean it - he just does not notice when he is mean. He is a character you could pity. The goal of the game is Rufus' redemption. I cannot imagine that the game would change that drastical when playing it in German instead of English but the German voice actor for Rufus (as well as the rest of the cast) gave everything to make the experience very special. Liking Deponia is also much easier if you don't forget that it's just a cartoon game (even though it has a deeper meaning behind it) with over the top characters. It is not a political statement and it was never meant to be that way (the people at RPS imo took the game way too seriously).

What?
If he's supposed to be unlikable that doesn't make it funny and it doesn't make him more likable.

He's about as likable as the games puzzles.

I didn't have a "political" problem with the game, I just couldn't imagine wanting to spend any more time playing a game focused on him, and regretted the time I did spend. He was both unlikable and 1-dimensional. Any redemption at hand for him was shallow and largely self-interested - save the girl he's attracted to, save his home from being blown up.

It's not like we're talking about "The Wire" or "Breaking Bad" where the characters are "unlikable" in a traditional sense - yet still interesting and worth getting to know in their complexity.

But yes, his whining voice was probably what pushed it over the top for me, and perhaps a different voice actor would've at least avoided that.

His German voice actor is fine, couldn't stand the english one for more than the first game.

MarkoH01: The game imo is great but you really should start with part 1 since it is a trilogy and you will enjoy it far more if you play all three parts in the correct order. However it IS possible to play the game without knowing the first part but it's probably not the same experience since you don't know all the characters.
avatar
doctorsinister: Looks like I don't qualify for the giveaway.

Anyway, I did play the first one and liked reading the rich lore and historical background as much as the gameplay itself. I heard the second one is far better than the first one but the third one just sucks.
I agree with omega64, yes the ending was god-awful and a complete disappointment. But I am positive that you will enjoy ME games once you get and play them.

omega64: What?

Nobody ever said that. The things he are doing are outrageous and THAT can be considered fun if you are into this kind of humour.

omega64: It has a deeper meaning behind it?
Not really deep but deeper than the cartoon world would suggest. It is the journey for Rufus to do something selfless and to realize that being egoistical in the end is not a good thing.

But I guess the discussion (which also is OT) leads us nowhere. I love, love, love Deponia and many other people do so too (in fact there is a great demand for a fifth part). The humor and maybe even the characters are not everybody's cup of tea but you could say that about nearly every game. Regarding the so unlikeable puzzles: Deponia (all parts) is one of the few games I actually did finish nearly without using a walkthrough at all so even this is obviously a subjective thing (or got lost in translation).

Let us end this here or start a new thread in the Deponia forum since this is the steam giveaway and not the Deponia discussion thread, don't you think?
I'd like to request Chaser please

Thank you

I let a whole day pass on this one? I'm losing my touch.
Granted!
Somebody else wants Chaser, so according to your instructions, I'll give it to him.

Haven't seen you much on this forum before. Searching your username brings up good things about you, though.
