Korotan: I am thorn if I shouldask for Her story. I got it already with Twitch Prime Subscription but it is worse then Epic Games Store whith having to be online all the time to play and there is not even Cloud Save (learned hard way with Pillars of Eternity). On the other hand this is not a game where you really need Cloud Save and so I save it for those that got it not already.

Makotolia: Oh I think I understand your feelings. I was torn these past days if I should ask for one of the thief games, ‘cuz I own them on Steam already, but Steam has officially cut their support for Win XP and I’ve seen some cases in which even some of the devs seemingly unnecessarily remove compatibility for XP of their games with updates.

As for your case, IMHO, just get it. Considering what you have done to spread the love of the Stronghold series, maybe, surprisingly, YOU will be the one who donates another Her Story key one day should the interest rises:)
You are right. I will take it and I will for spreading the love buy two games for Finkleroy to redistribute.

So Finkleroy can I please get Her Story as my game for this month?

Dogmaus: May I have EVERSPACE for January? Until now I had assumed it was a sci-fi 4X game but I watched reviews and it's actually an action roguelike!
Granted.

gixgox: May I ask for

Downwell

as January game?

TheDudeLebowski: Since PainOfSalvation doesn't want the Hard West DLC, may I have it instead, please?

I have added rule #18. It reads:
18. Donors are welcome to check if a key has been redeemed by the user who requested it. If a key has not been redeemed, and it has been at least 72 hours since the key was granted, the donor is welcome to contact me. Upon being notified by the donor, I will notify the giftee that they must redeem the key within one week from that moment. If they fail to do so, the key will be returned to the giveaway.
Many thanks to finkleroi and gogtrial34987 for EVERSPACE.

I honestly dont understand why a fair amount of people keep saying that you have to be online all the time at Epic games store. The majority of games there dont require the launcher running to play them. Just to install them. Granted I have not tried them all but I can easily list 8 games that run with out the client. :)

Control
Manifold Garden
Observation
Outer Wilds
Outer Worlds
Thimbleweed Park
Ashen
Metro Exodus (though this one does have DRM. It seems Denuvo is not tied to the client).

Lone_Scout: If it isn't the case anyway, I agree that taking a game just for backlogging isn't fair and respectful to other users or donors.

So, a reminder to everyone: One game per month is the limit, not the standard pace. Only take games you are interested in playing.
It might not be seen as fair by some, but it's OP's call/thread & I think some should be allowed to do it as long as OP is ok with it/it's within the rules. If people want to stipulate people only get their games if they play them right away then they should hold their own giveaway(as I do from time to time) with certain rules in place.

Note that I mean if someone won't play it right away but will get to it and play it within the next 6 months or so at most....as some often have other IRL things to do but want a certain game. As for those who take and don't redeem I agree they should be warned/etc if need be, as I said before, but people should be able to play the games at their own pace.

(I'll likely get low rated for this by some, but I don't mind...I felt it needed to be said)

Cavalary: If nominees get a week to claim their game, it should definitely apply to those who request it as well, if not even be a shorter deadline for those. But that's for this particular giveaway, of course.

About taking games you're not starting relatively soon though, I say no foul there if you do intend to play it at some point and think it for whatever reason unlikely that you'll be able or willing to purchase it yourself by then.
Agreed on all points :)

Dogmaus: I agree and also I think one week could be the days limit for redeeming the key before it's returned, and it's plenty of time. I find 4 weeks an excessive time. Not redeeming in a few days makes you think they are trying to trade or sell.
1-2 weeks from the time the key is sent to someone also sounds good as well.

Perfectly written/set up, OP. :)

Thank you finkleroy and Dogmaus for this lovely well - I hope there is a frog I may kiss.
Thank you, gogtrial for the Hard West DLC, and finkleroy for handling this monumental task.
May i request The Gamers: Director’s Cut movie if it is ok. Saw a trailer some time ago and looked a lot of fun.

You're very welcome! I hope you'll have a less rough ride getting to love everspace than I had. Took me a long time to learn to fly my ship and scrape together the early credits to upgrade it just enough to become competitive, and I very nearly gave up on the game after my first ~15 deaths. I'm really glad I stuck with it, though, as the way the game worked then finally clicked for me, and progress after that point became smooth. I loved the way the story unfolded sector after sector, and the way new environments still popped up and surprised me till quite late in the game.

You're very welcome! If you're like me and play on hard, be aware that the difficulty in this DLC has really gone up a notch, with enemies having better guns, and so being quite capable of one-shotting you if you're not under cover. I really loved the design of several of the maps, though, and was quite enamored with the story, too.

I don't mind dying a lot, I know it takes a lot of precision to aim and there's a steep learning curve, let's see how bad I will be at this! I have seen bad reviews of people who were expecting a Wing Commander-like game, but I think I'm gonna like it!

Enjoy, it's one of my favourite games. As for what you'll find on the bottom of the well, oh, well, you don't want to kiss it.
