HUGE thank you to LadyPhoenix for the copy of System Shock 2!! I only recently discovered the series and played through the first one this year. So much fun - can't wait to see what the second is all about!!

And of course, another huge thanks to moonshineshadow, that's really kind of you to run this. Taking the time to PM me, and kindly responding even after I don't see it for months (relocation) was above and beyond.

Well the giveaway is officially closed now. Thanks to everyone for participating :-)

Final statistics:

Games given in total: 1432
Games expired: 33
Games stolen: 1
Games returned to donors: 104 (mainly games that were free at one point)

Donors: 262
Recipients: 542
Nominators: 69

If you want to know anything else feel free to ask ;-)

Now. As you can see in the statistics I'm returning games to the donors. There were several people interested in doing a continuation or something a bit different in the long run. In the end, I felt most comfortable with giving the codes back and letting people decide what to do with them on their own. Because these games were given to me, to hand them out as gifts and well, just giving them to another giveaway is not really what was intented for them.

I want to thank JogsterXL and moonshineshadow for "The Legend of Kyrandia 3". Gift received, and now succesfully activated.

Also, special thanks to moonshineshadow for the hard work of maintaining this very long giveaway. It's good to know that many gifts found good homes.

And obviously, many thanks to ALL THE DONORS. This wouldn't be possible without their generosity.

Cheers, and happy gaming! ^_^
Thank you plagren for the gift of Baldur's Gate 2, and moonshineshadow for delivering the code. :) I will try it ASAP.
Much obliged to Doc0075 for donating Baldur's Gate The Original Saga. And a big thank you and farewell to moonshineshadow. Best of luck to everyone who participated in this GA.
A huge thanks to moonshineshadow for her incredible work, her time and her energy, and to all the donors for their generosity !  :-D

very impressive stats thats alot of games donated and given out just goes to prove that this community is amazing
and i applaud your moral sense in returning teh codes back to the donators
its very sad that this had to end but maybe in future someone will cast raise dead on it XD
offer my thanks for running it for as long as you have
great work!!
I'll add another thanks for running this thing.
And another thanks for the copy of terraria I got from here a bit ago thats been my game of choice since.

It makes me sad that the final statistics included a stolen game, but oh well, some people don't give any shits I guess.

1432 games given away?... damn that's a lot of games.

Big thanks to all the folks that donated all those games.
Sad to see this is shutting down, but it's understandable. Thank you for doing an amazing job moonshineshadow!
Now that The Community Giveaway has finally reached it's end (as all good things do eventually), I would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG THANKS to moonshineshadow for maintaining this GA so well. Even though i did not ask for, received or was ever nominated for any games here, i still want to give my heartfelt sincere thanks & gratitude to all the wonderful doners for contributing to this GA. The kindness & generosity of my fellow GOGers here is unique, something i do not & don't think i'll ever see in any other forums.

I had kept to the promise i made to myself not to ask for any games in this GA unless with IAmSinistar &/or moonshineshadow's prior approval as i felt that having already benefited from receiving 2 games in the previous GA under IAmSinistar's watch, i simply felt i need to contribute more to this forum before i deem myself worthy of getting a game in this GA.

Now i'm glad to say that having just recently gotten a new job for slightly better pay at the expense of less personal time & higher workload, i'll soon be able to repay the 'debts' i 'owe' to the community. Unfortunately, this GA was closed to accepting any more games by then so i guess that will just have to wait till the next iteration of this GA appears. ;)

Although it's a little sad to see such an amazing GA end, it had a great run over almost a year since it replaced A Community Giveaway which was just as well maintained by IAmSinistar & baby-sitted by trentonlf in his short absence. With this in mind, i'm sure the community spirit of giving will continue to live on, perhaps in another GA in the (near?) future.

Lastly, i would just like to wish moonshineshadow all the best to finishing her current project as well as finding a new job after that. All the best to all u fellow GOGers as well of cos. =)

Amazing :)

Thanks to all the donors and community who participated, but super big congrats and much appreciation to you on a big job amazingly well done!

Edit - and best wishes for the job search ahead! I know (from experience) that can be less than fun, but I hope something wonderful comes out of it for you!

moonshineshadow: There are only three months left until I need to have finished my current project and of course in addition I need to find a new job for the time after that. So my schedule will be consisting mostly of working and sleeping ;-)
Many thanks for your (hard!) work as an host: I think you should be proud of your efforts in making the forum a better place.
I wish you all the best for your current projects and good luck for the next ones, mainly I hope you'll find quickly a satisfying new job.

That's some pretty impressive stats right there. You should add it to your CV for your job search ;) (as herding cats possibly?)

Having received a fair number of those games (mostly thanks to nominations from Hyper if I remember rightly, though I did request a few myself) I'm extra appreciative of all the effort you put in running this for so long, and of the generosity of all the donors (of which there is an equally impressive number)

Well done! :D

Impressive numbers -- i hope this thread won't be forgotten for the future GOGers to see, admire and why not, surpass. It is the proof of what a small community of gamers around the world can do. Everyone who participated in this giveaway is worthy of many thanksgiving while Moon / Sinistar / Trentonlf are worthy of respect for all their hard work.
Hooray! What a fantastic giveaway! The amount of time that went into this must have been huge.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

P.S. If any donors want to send those games to a treasure hunt, let me know. I've cancelled production of my automated Neverwinter Nights treasure hunt, but I do still plan to have on in the relative near future.
