Does anyone have any experience of using the Black Library for Warhammer stuff? I have just finished reading Gotrek & Felix and would like to get the last four novels. Now this library is one of two that came up (Amazon being the other) and I am unsure. What would be ideal is to get a hardcopy with PDF, but that doesn't seem to be possible. So is it worth paying the £7 per book just for the PDF from this company, and is it really DRM free? Seems a bit of a rip off to pay £7 for a PDF then another £7 for the actual book.

Or if you know other shops to get these from
City of the Damned by David Guymer (September 2013)
The Serpent Queen by Josh Reynolds (April 2014)
Kinslayer by David Guymer (September 2014)
Slayer by David Guymer (May 2015)

I do read a lot of Black Library stuff...pretty much 40K material, but everything I have bought, is either from Amazon, or Barnes & Noble (hardcopy). I prefer my reading done from a tangible book, and don't care much for digital versions, so I am sorry to report, that I have not bought digitally from either company....Well, I did a game manual once from Amazon though, and other then having to download their Kindle app for my laptop (don't own an actual Kindle) to read it, it was indeed DRM free. That was a few years ago as best I can recall. Don't know if that helps you much, but that's the extent of my experience with them...

Bump.
From their terms and conditions:

9.3 For the avoidance of doubt, you must not:
9.3.4 attempt to reverse engineer, bypass, alter, amend, remove or otherwise make any change to any copy protection technology that may be applied to the Download.

And according to the FAQ:
- Any device that can download eReader software is capable of running at least some of our digital products. Some products are only available in specific formats that can be used on particular devices.

So it may well depend on the individual books which files are available and whether they have DRM...

Sorry I can't help more, never actually bought anything digital from them.

Thanks. Yes, that makes sense, this is why I just don't trust shops anymore. I will just get a hardcopy from the local shop.

Yeah.. probably best unfortunately.
I imagine you should at least be able to get most of the Black Library stuff cheap second hand if you're happy with that.

But if you're wanting to get them full price / new you might as well do it from Black Library (seeing as they are the publishers)
