DieRuhe: I watched "Blair Witch" yesterday. That was 90 minutes of waiting for something interesting to happen and being denied. Lifeless characters. No sense of improvisation like in the first; they came off like actors reciting lines. And poorly at that. Too many cameras. Got carried away with the drone camera that only ever showed basically one view. Had the "black guy" trope: he was the contrarian. Did he die first? Watch it and see! Or better yet, don't. I remember "Book of Shadows" getting crapped on, but it was way better than this.
tinyE: One of the better descriptions of the movie I have ever read.
Pretty much sums up the whole thing as accurately as can be done.
WAIT, are you talking about the original or the new one?
I haven't seen the new one.
I think you're joking, but I'm never sure...
The first one (
The Blair Witch Project) didn't have drones or a black guy. The second,
Book of Shadows, got crap for being so different than the first. The third, simply
Blair Witch, tried to recapture the first and failed. I loved the first, liked the second, and hated the third.
