500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

Has anyone succeeded to run the GOG version of Venom Codename: Outbreak under Linux/Wine?

The WineHQ entry for the retail version doesn't look very good.

Oh wow, Giants for FREE I don't say "Nay" to that one! ^^

THANKS Gog & Rightholders of the game!
I've somehow never managed to play the KOTOR series before... I think I'll take this opportunity to grab them! I also missed out on Grandia 2 back in the Dreamcast days, so I'll go for that too! There's so many things to go for, but my backlog is big enough that I shouldn't go overboard...!

Already had Giants, but it's good for those who didn't have it! Good call, it's a quirky, interesting title.

Niggles: Which one of the Anno games should one pick up out of the three on GOG ?
avatar
eiii: I've only played Anno 1602 extensively. I've never really gotten into playing Anno 1701 even though I own it since a while. The camera control in this game annoys me. For me the "camera" in the older games, although limited to 90 degree turns by the 2D game graphics, fits more for it's purpose. I've just started to play Anno 1503 (from GOG). So far it looks like an improved version of Anno 1602 (although I haven't gotten too far yet). From my limited point of view I would go either for Anno 1602 or for Anno 1503, which for some strange reason is even the cheapest of the three on GOG. You always can get the more expensive ones later if you like it. ;)
Thanks for the response. Will look further. Maybe pick one of other up before end of the sale :)

Splatsch: The three games are very good (for what I played and read). Personally, I suggest 1602 (I really love it!), except if you want a more complex game, in this case you should may be take 1503. 1602 isn't especially simplistic : 1503 has simply more things to think about.
I'm not a specialist, but I hope it helps :)
thank you :)

Finally was able to purchase Don't Starve on GOG. Had been refusing to do so up until now since the devs had only offered a 67% discount on GOG whereas they offered a 75% regularly on Steam. Of course, it was still cheaper on Steam 3.74 vs 3.79), but that's only GOG's asinine love of forcing prices to end in the number 9.

Grabbed several other nice deals as well. Good sale this year.
Why the hell is Anno 1602 (released 1998) more expensive than Anno 1503 (released 2002)? Both by the same publisher + dev
I'm convinced if you're fast enough and manage to click on the squirrel before she vanishes, you're taken to a secret page.

IwubCheeze: Careful what you say there. Mrs. ninja squirrel decapitated that snowman and took his Christmas presents. The same just might happen to you........ :p

Edit: Got the ninja squirrel's gender wrong
LMAO. It's possible. I guess ninja squirrel's abilities are beyond our imaginations. Ninja, mage, thief... :D
