guppy44: I'm still wondering about the Avernum, Avadon and Drod games from yesterday. I didn't buy them as I wasn't around in time, but there's a chance they may come around again. I'm really not sure what they're similar to? Honestly, they're a bunch of new-to-me games so I don't know.
Avernum and Avadon are old-school isometric RPGs, drawing their inspiration from '90s CRPGs. They're far more text-heavy than most games (even other RPGs). Very worthwhile if you like the genre, but don't expect top-notch graphics or sound - they're made by a committed one-man dev team.

Be aware that the two newest Avernums (Escape From The Pit and Crystal Souls) aren't sequels; they're remakes of the first two games from the Complete Saga to bring them up to his current standards (in line with Avernum 6 and the Avadon games). Story-wise, the Complete Saga does indeed contain the whole thing, so it's great value for money, but the first two games look obviously woeful compared to their snazzier remakes (if you look at the screenshots on the Complete Saga gamepage, 1 & 2 are the ones that have the name of the game permanently plastered across the top of the screen).

DROD (Deadly Rooms Of Death) is... very hard to describe, and not really similar to any other game I've encountered. Thematically it's a dungeon crawler, with potions, secret passages and NPCs, but the gameplay is pure puzzle game. The movements of the enemies are completely deterministic, it's all turn-based, and rooms will reset if you leave them until you manage to clear them of enemies.

Screenshots don't do justice to the cleverness of this game. Here's a Youtube playlist of the second game to give you an idea of whether it's for you:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nkO64_Xc5k&list=PLBk6-z6v3pDKag06KlQN3uun312_7NBB_

Early levels are a bit bare (to teach you the ropes) and often exposition-heavy (there is actually a storyline) so if you think the rooms in the first video look too straightforward for interest, you may want to flick through a later episode to get a look at some of the more interesting rooms.
Hmm.. Unwritten tales 2 would be nice but still, I'll have to think about it.
Bought System Shock: Enhanced Edition and Mount and Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest
I don't think I'll ever find it not annoying to see that empty space next to Hotline Miami. I didn't enjoy the first game enough to want to rush to play Hotline Miami 2, and I understand why it was banned in Australia (I don't agree but I understand). All the same, it's just so galling to see an empty black space where other people see a buyable game...

Ah well, I suppose the Germans have it worse. More games unbuyable, and some real classics among them.
Arcanum is made of awesome!
I read that Crypt of the NecroDancer had issues running without the Galaxy client. Do you know if it has been resolved?
Can someone please let me know how much Hotline Miami 2 is going for today?

Smannesman: Nothing for me today either.
same here, i already have what i wanted.
just in case anyone haven't played the syndicate games. syndicate plus is probably better than syndicate wars. syndicate had more detailed faux-3D, wars looks more like first generation 3D. wars allows you to see inside buildings, but there really isn't much inside of them. also it has 2 different campaigns, but there isn't much of a difference between the missions or weapons you get to use. wars is basically a real 3D version of the first syndicate game, but that isn't saying much since the 3D is pretty ugly by modern standards and lacks details and textures.

Nothing for me today - money saved! :D
Well I finally bought a mistery game... Breach&Clear . I thought it was my kinda thing, but it turns out it's not...
Awww, dammit! I just woke up after sleeping nearly 14! hours, and I missed buying Fran Bow!
(Woah, I must have been really tired... O_o)

Anyway, GOG repeats games so I'm going to hope that Fran Bow is a repeater.

Also, on the plus side, my backlog doesn't keep on growing.
Some nice DLC I waiting to get in a sale is here today, so I'm off to spend some of my moolah. :)
