500+ deals up to 90% off, $3 mystery games, and free games just for shopping.

A jocund flame swallows up the cold, cold streams of outside air. The holidays are coming, and everyone begins to feel a little more generous, a little more kind, and a little bit giddy. We're feeling it too, because this time around, winter came to GOG.com before it was cool.

The Holiday Ninja Squirrel (have you met her yet?) brings a generous surprise for all with $3 Mystery Games from the GOG.com catalog, each worth between $6.99 and $34.99. These games won't be part of the regular sale lineup, and unowned games will be prioritized to minimize repeats. We're starting out with a pool of 50+ games, but we'll be adding more throughout the sale - we'll let you know when that happens.

InfraSuperman: It uses the same basic control layout as System Shock, so it's basically just WASD shifted down by one row. Quite ahead of it's time, really.

If you want, you can use Dosbox's built-in keymapper to change the controls (CTRL+F1).
Have you tried that FireStarter game at all? Do you know if it runs in a window?
I think I have something weird with my wishlist. It shows me just two discounted games:)

Themken: ...How much of a must have is the DLC pack for Tropico 4?
The DLC Modern Times is actually an expansion covering 12 missions, with modern buildings and such.
With the other DLCs you get 10 additional missions or scenarios.
So there's at least 20 hrs worth of content in the DLC pack, which is quite a lot of game-time for $4.
(I can't remember how much time I actually spent on them, its a blur by now.)

Are they necessary ? Personally I spend more time in the sandbox mode than the campaign mode in this series.
If you love sandboxing these kind of games, then 'no', the DLCs are not a must-have.
However if you enjoy doing the campaigns the most, then $4 for 20 hrs worth of extra missions is quite a bargain.

gamesfreak64: So basically you would like them to put up all the games they plan to sale at once, instead of surprising the users which games will be put up on sale?
Just leave the deals on longer than one day is what I'm saying. At least 2 days. And preferably, if they make a sale for 1 or 2 days which will return a week later anyway, why not just leave it for the whole week? If I won't be around at the time of the final sale when ALL deals will be on, I won't buy anything and gog will not get any money. Is that a win for anyone?

I'm not here for surprises, I'm here for specific games which I want.

That reminds me, someone better get the stripper out of that cake. She might suffocate in there.

"She"? Ah, good thing we're sending it back, then. I misread your handwriting.

Um...was the baker supposed to have cooked the cake already...?

We might need shovels, or a good lawyer, depending on how you want to handle this.
You mean the nutcrakin ninja squirrel was hiding in the cake ?

Yeah, this is the only Firestarter I know about!
I'm just not fast enough to click on that damn ninja squirrel.
So what are folk's recommendations from today's deals? I'm going to go with the Escape Goat games and Luftrausers as providing good play value for money this time.

IAmSinistar: Escape Goat
GREAT game, but when the difficulty amps up be prepared to scream a lot.
