Anyone know how to download a working TES Construction Set for the GOG version of Morrowind? I bought this game as it one of my all time favourites, but it came without the C:S. My system is Windows 10 and so my old version, doesn't work any longer. (I'm a genuine end user only sort of a guy that hasn't a clue about getting older stuff to work with newer versions.)

In my old game, I built my own island using the TES Construction Set with a Vivec canton sized building to hold all the stuff I collected and had loads of named containers for putting it all in to.

With the GOG ver, Im getting a sack for all the overload stuff right in the middle of a set of shelves I was displaying the helmets on. I know I can just use the editor to drop more containers, but the Factor's House in Raven Rock is kind small for everything that can be accrued over the duration of all the guild quests.

I appreciate any insight you may wish to offer.

Thanks very much

Hello Legless. GOG's version of Morrowind should already include the Construction Set. You can access it either through a shortcut from the Start Menu, or by running the TES Construction Set.exe from the game's installation folder.
It's installed as part of the installer. Look in Start. I assume you are in galaxy or something. Look at your actual install.

If the game creates a Start menu shortcut to the editor, it almost certainly can be accessed via Galaxy as well (I think I've heard it's something like "More > Other" in similar situations with other games).

Seeing how the description of the original "mod" mentions that the "GOTY Edition from Steam does not have files for the TES:CS as a part of the download package" and "This package should replace the missing files" and the download looks like it has all the files created when installing the CS, it seems it should work.

Grargar: Hello Legless. GOG's version of Morrowind should already include the Construction Set. You can access it either through a shortcut from the Start Menu, or by running the TES Construction Set.exe from the game's installation folder.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Construction Set, additionally known as the Morrowind Construction Set, is a unique modding device that became shipped unfastened with The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, prior to its release on Steam.[citation needed] The Morrowind Construction set changed into used to create and edit almost all aspects of the sport, which includes communicate, characters. The Construction Set become extensively utilized for the creation of Morrowind's DLCs, The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal and The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon, as well as it's legitimate plug-ins. Today, it's far used by players to create mods.
If the original disc purchase of Morrowind was made, then the Construction Set came with the installation, and doesn't want to be downloaded. However, Steam customers will need to down load the program from some other website online, inclusive of Nexus Mods. Note that Xbox users do not have get admission to to download or use the Construction Set.

Once the documents are downloaded, the user need to extract the documents into Morrowind's file dictionary. From there, the Construction Set may be opened as an software.

Once the consumer opens the files, they'll be faced with a clean menu. In order to view any of the statistics from Morrowind and its changes, the user need to choose the "Load Master/Plugin File" button in the top lefthand corner, at once underneath the record button. This will permit the person to open the master file for Morrowind, which incorporates the sport's records. It must be mentioned that any DLCs need to additionally be decided on OAKLEY Construction. The files will begin to open. Any warning messages may be accepted with a yes; deciding on no will close the Construction Set. Note that it can be helpful to hold down input if a multitude of messages come up.

Once the files are loaded, the menu will update, showing all of the game's information.

As i remember a large number of files were included in the 'construction set' CD that you don't have. Most of those are textures and object names and nif files and stuff that is in the core game but not in a format we can view or access normally, thus intermediate versions.

As thus you'll find if you explore the Master/Plugin files, they reference .bmp files rather than .dds files... Though internally it just switches the name. Causes some problems as i recall where if you have bmp textures they can't be in a bsa archive.

Tons of unique knowledge tidbits...
Firstly be careful just downloading any old links given to you over the internet.

Second check to be 100% sure you do not already have it installed as part of the GOG MGOTY edition. I have no idea where (or how) Windows 10 might decided to place it, but on the more sane Windows versions it would be in the same location as the main game install and either you could use the 'Start' menu and follow along the same path for launching the game (like C:\Bethesda Softworks\The Elder Scrolls Construction Set as an example) OR go into your game folder directly to find the shortcut to launch it which will be in the main 'Morrowind' folder alongside your Morrowind.exe.

Look for TES Construction Set.exe in your main install location to do it that way.

IF you really do not have it in the GOG GOTY edition (and Steam users did not) then you will need to look for a place to download it from, but try to stay as 'official' as possible to be sure you don't download a malware laden version etc.

Personally i'd go directly to the official TES Construction Set forums (hosted by Bethesda themselves) and look around for info on where to download it from:

http://forums.bethsoft.com/forum/11-construction-set-morrowind/

Good luck and while on those forums if you have not used the Construction Set before, take the time to read as many of the guides to doing so as possible, as it will save you lots of potential problems :)
