Xeshra: Another thing i have to add is the sometimes, actually almost always, very high regional pricing differences and even CDPR is not different than the others, they are part of this whole marketing circus.

So, obviously, in certain regions some users are automatically "strong providers" even with a heavy discount; with my country basically "in the lead", i see no pricier region. I can not say if this is "good or bad" but... at least thanks for considering me and us "the true wealth of planet earth"... at least we are working hard in order to build a golden palace soon and what else. I still am not driving a 80 000 or what else CHF BMW°° car with 5000 CHF repairs a year because i just do not enjoy a cash grab... i appreciate the "real value" of things, no matter how much coins i may able to throw away. °°Not even if i got Elon Musks wallet i would get me one, it is just a bad car. I would get me a fully rebuild, handmade, Toyota Supra (not a Tesla, sorry Musk)... with a lot of horsepower, if i really may have way to much cash to spare. Additionally i am buying games on a online marketplace... which needs obviously the biggest wallet.

CIS dollar is basically a collection of states with a enforced "normalized currency" including Russia, so they are not anymore handled as a single state.

On GoG it is more or less the same because they was adapting to this "industry standard".

There should be some GoG infos too, can not find it yet.

Guess need to use a non native API site because no "native API" available, only unofficial ones.

Can no find something good yet, maybe someone got more clue than me.

Considering the games on the topic: https://steamdb.info/app/954740/
On GoG it is more or less this price but without any price cut. In worst case, for my country, it means 39.99 CHF (no joke)... and "in the best case, with price cut" it means 3.10 CHF, which is 12.9 times lower.

Obviously, with such a big difference... i guess no secret many people, even if they enjoy DRM free... are rather getting the cheaper version and if required... trying to circumvent the DRM (using Goldberg or whatelse).

However... i am not going to share a secret on the Terminator: Resistance... but the people still can check this one:
www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Terminator:_Resistance

Final fact simply is: Big, yes big... disadvantage to GoG.
Meds.

SargonAelther: Uhm.... No. No no no.

If you are unwilling or unable to pay the full price, that does not mean that everyone else should be deprived of the ability to buy this game DRM-FREE.

Xeshra: The matter is more complicated than this: GoG, dependable on the contract (which can be pretty individual) will have to pay a certain amount of cash to the publisher in advance... kinda a "certain cash volume handed out without a single game sold at this point". In this case it would be fair to say "GoG can rule the price and how it will be sold", but this is not necessarily the case. The publishers may still have the right to set up the prices or price cuts... and if the difference vs. other platforms, is to big... it will put GoG at a high disadvantage. It would be okay if a certain publisher is ONLY getting the cash he actually got with the sales which has been made, but in many term it does not work like this.

I do lack any accurate insight on how those contracts has been done, but it totally depends on the contracts and in some cases it can become problematic to GoG and in the end simply a disadvantage to them. To the users... i can not say because some of them are willing to pay any price for DRM free and others simply not, so it is a very individual thing. However, with a chance of well over 90% a user is not paying a way higher price than on another platform, because the majority is not having Gabe Newells moneybag, and if so... they will still not pay more because those who are wealthy will watch their bank account even more closely than any other person... with the usual exceptions.

Still, in general publishers got about the same price level and price cuts on any platform, so this issue is not very wide spread and not a major concern.
GOG cannot change the price or discount a game without a publisher's approval. This has been stated many times throughout the forums and Discord.

Nothing you said justifies removing a game from the store.
I never told or agreed to "pulling a game from a store in term of big disadvantage for the store", i just was stating the fact that there IS a disadvantage... in this case 2 parties at once, GoG and the gamers involved in those "high price regions".

Some publishers are not (very) friendly but, no matter if i... or GoG... is enjoying it: Their rights of making their own decisions should be respected, in the same way their creativity does (so i do not support censorship).

I simply take position... spelling out the things i enjoy or ... the opposite of it, yet i am NOT a friend of enforcing rules and in general i hate to abusively use might in order to gain a advantage. It is much more productive, more fruitful and long lasting, if stuff are motivated by the heart instead of someones muscles. But in order to move the heart... the brain may need some basic insight, so it is good talking about.

Ancient-Red-Dragon is known for being strict and with a usually strong controversial position, not afraid of causing polarisation or simply strong pros and cons. I do not say it is wrong of being like this, nor do i generally agree... i just say i do understand many parts of it but i do understand opposite positions as well, so it is not a one sided thing. There are many valid points and it is simply his own way of dealing with it, but i try to support the heart... over... muscles in general so it is not my way of execution but i still got a lot of understanding considering many of the issues being stated.

If life would always be that easy... well it is not.

One more thing, related to the game in the topic "Terminator: Resistance": The thing that is pretty unfortunate to GoG and the users that... want to support GoG, is that the publisher is simply for no real reason... treating the store "badly", this is simply a fact. Because, the game is DRM free on that other platform as well, so the issue is not the DRM and its premium-price (if not activated), the issue is simply "the publisher thinks GoG is some second grade shop and the other shop is premium with the very best conditions to the customers and the store", so... actually there is some lack of respect from the publisher and i feel... the topic creator got some strong sense of "justice", this is the reason he was bringing up some pretty harsh ideas. Still, you should not "give back the things handed out to you", this is not how it works because this way the heart will never be able to build a bud which can create new developments. Instead simply make those handing it out to you aware of and in future the conditions granted to them might not be that great anymore, because trust need to be build up, trust is not free. However... no harsh actions, nor the loss of some basic respect, should be taken, this is not "the way of the heart" and not very long lasting.
