I made a thread a week or two ago about who would buyout Ubisoft, it looks like Tencent is most likely.
This has also got people talking about the possibility that Tencent planned this from the start. Allegedly, Tencent may have encouraged DEI in the latest Assassin's Creed with full knowledge of the negative outcome, allowing them to push Ubisoft for a cheap buyout. Apparently, Chinese companies have done similar things before but I'm not well-informed on this so I don't know how true that is.
On a sidenote, Microsoft's Activision cloud streaming rights are controlled by Ubisoft, which could now possibly be under Tencent.
