Not sure about this game in particular, but for many you have to donwload a separate installer for a different language.

In the game card in your account, you should see it under the game's name, between "System" and "More".
That can't be it, GOG only offers an English installer for TWD1. The Changelog mentions localisation in others languages, too, though. I see three possibilities:

1. There might be an in-game option to change the language; but the OP can't see one, so maybe there isn't.
2. There could be some kind of setup tool in the game's folder that let's you choose the language.
3. The game offers several different languages but no actual choice between them. It chooses your language settings automatically for you, depending on the language of your operating system. I've heard mention that some of the Telltale games on GOG do this. If TWD1 is among them, you might be out of luck, unless you're willing to change the language of your OS before playing. Someone recently posted a link to a tool that could help with games like that, but unfortunately I forgot to bookmark the thread and can't find it anymore, and that tool might have been Windows only ...

I've seen a few applications for OS X to set which language to use when running an application. I've used one of them before, but I can't remember what it was called. However, I found a discussion over at stackexchange (which is usually decent) where someone linked to an application called Language Switcher. You could try that one.

What these applications do is rather simple, so someone with a bit of knowledge about coding for OS X would likely make their own quicker than looking up an existing solution.
Hello together,

thank you for the help.

@Leroux:
1. There's no in-game option
2. Also no setup tool and no option for the download - it's greyed.
3. The language for my OS is german, so this doesn't also work

@Maighstir:
Have installed this tool. but there's no choice for TWD in the app.

So, i think, to change the subtitles is not possible and i've wasted my money because it's really difficult to follow the dialogues without the correct subtitles.

But if i want to improve my english skills i can do that with TWD :)

Thank you very much for your plenty help.

If the game's card says German is included, you can contact support and see if they can help or give you a refund.

Just to be clear, you see English subtitles and want to change them to German subtitles? I think the audio is English only with most Telltale games.

Yes, there is a language tool that you can use to change the subtitles. See the attached screenshot.

That's for Windows though.

That's correct. But can it really be that different on Mac (serious question, I'm not familiar with that OS)?
You could improve your English with Duolingo. :)
