I am in need of help with my pc.

my headset when connected to my monitor started to produce loud white noise the moment windows starts.
Headphones are connected to the monitor which is connected to PC via HDMI cable.

No other sound is produced.

Background. It happened morning friday when computer started, on thursday there was no issue.

The headset is not at fault as the sound happens with other headphones as well. Headsets and other headphones work without problem when connected to different device.

When headphones are connected to my case instead to monitor there is no problem either.

When i connect my monitor to my laptop and connect headphones the same thing happens.

Monitor speakers play sound, music without any issue.

monitor is: LG 34UM69G-B 34"


Anyone has any idea wtf is happening or is my monitor busted?

Audio is sub-par from monitors audio jack, at least from mine. I only connect headphones to my motherboards audio out.
Also try: Unplug monitor from power for few minutes. If that doesn't help then it might be your monitors audio input.

It may be a hardware fault, or a problem with the device drivers. Windows 10 will frequently upgrade drivers without letting you know, sometimes with unfortunate side effects. Try to find the audio device in the device manager and examine if the drivers have been changed/upgraded recently (you should have the option to roll back the upgrade if that's the case).

Based on what you said it does sound like the monitor is broken - perhaps the headphone amplifier in the monitor. I don't know what to suggest though.

sounds like something Im having when use headphones while some storage device (flash or dedicated drive) is plugged into one of my usb slots. Related to weird design decisions, laptop manufacturer did.

Seems the most logical. Try unplugging your roku and stufff if you have anything. The problem is definitely the TV, so something might be busted in it. If the TV can play audio from the computer fine without headphones, then it's not on your computer, since your computer is fine. If it's not too much of a hassle, rather than trying to find a setting, resetting tv to factory default might be an easier solution if it's in the software of the TV. The downside is, if that's the case, you will never know how to prevent it again.

so not sure exactly which connection was an issue as they all looked fine:

reconnected socket to powerbank
reconnected that block on power cable
and reconnected the cable to monitor

it got fixed. lol. there are few places where over past year of using computer cable could move
-kicked the powerbank
-table movement and pulled on cable removing it from the block
-reconnecting and disconnecting headphones i pulled on power cable (they are next to each other)

I would recommend plugging straight into your PC. Even then getting a wee amp set up or mini hifi for your computer will make a huge difference in terms of sound quality. If that's what you're looking for. Glad it worked out. :) It's likely. I've had a lot of issues with it in the past.
