Never considered it til a friend told me how nice the place is (and he loves taiwanese women..haha).
Might be looking to visit and also Vietnam and Korea next year permitting (our govt arent letting us from the covid jails now and might not til July next year..IF..). Food. Culture and sight seeing are my main aims :).
Everyone I know who has gone there says the food is dope.

If you're thinking this holiday season, then you'll need to be quarantined 14 days upon arrival. No exception. Covid sucks. Maybe next year.

Food is a collection of styles from China, Hong Kong and Japan. It's pretty safe, as in no sketchy areas where you'd get mugged, and no cops to bribe. Lots of hiking and beaches if that's your thing. The museums have the best collection of old Chinese artifacts, which were shipped out before they left mainland.
Never been in any of those places. Planning to visit S.Korea in a bit more virus-free future. The rest if and when I'm able.
Thinking of visiing Thailand one of these days. Thai culture is so interesting. About Taiwan, they say that this place and Hong Kong have been the reservoirs for many aspects of Chinese culture that, sadly, was wiped with the events started by the revolution. Another interesting countries in the area, from friends who have been there: Japan, that is super expensive, and Vietnam, that is super affordable. Both fascinating in different ways, apparently.

In any case, travelling starts better with study before leaving home. So that you can appreaciate what you see and experiment. The pandemic provides a good chance for said study and planning before packing a case or backpack Cheers.
